"We hired them to perimeter fence our farm with no climb horse wire with wood on top. Approximately 7 acres of that type of fence. We also have a 13 acre pasture that we wanted fenced in RAMM flex fence. I specifically asked if they had experience with RAMM because it works on a tension system and needs to be installed specifically according to the manufacturer. Melanie said they did have experience with it and it would be no problem. While the crew did a good job on the perimeter fencing, they had no idea what they were doing with the RAMM fencing. They didn't brace corners/gates properly, and I had to hire another company to uninstall and reinstall what was messed up. And when I went to pay Melanie the final payment, there was an additional $4000+ added to her original quote. She said she had missed 200 feet of fencing when she did the estimate."

"Mr. Fosgate is an artist;  a nice and personable individual. Even  though I checked  that the services have been provided, they are not finished yet as of now. provided us with the drawing (rough) of his vision for the front yard which we approved.  We were not charged for the drawings since they were included in the price with the job contract.  Initial contact was made in late September. The initial stage (mainly removal of the existing old plants) was done promptly and well.  The main frustration concerns lack of timely follow up (job still not completed after 3 months), lack of punctuality and overall lack of professionalism.  Hence the first sentence of this review -an artistic approach.  The design was very nice, but it seems Mr. Fosgate lost his interest in the job details.  We would plan on a date to do a certain segment and no workers would show up.  Sometimes 10 days to over 2 weeks would pass between visits.  Mr Fosgate is often out of town working on other projects to the detriment of the current one (ours).I contacted Mr Fosgate requesting Him setting he time of arrival - that was not kept.  We still have plants standing in pots (just placed around) rather than in the ground.  The lighting job is half-done, although paid in full.
If one wants an artistic design and does not mind having a haphazard approach to timely execution, Mr Fosgate may be your man. If you want to have good, consistent response and timely execution - you have been warned.

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in East Palatka, FL

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
