"<p>The fencing looks fine. The problem is the professionalism and punctuality. I paid $5000 up front with and agreed upon start date. With that start date, I arraigned 4 weeks off of work to accomplish what I estimated to be 1-2 weeks of landscaping required after the fence went up. Problem is, they didn't start on time, and by not on time I mean they didn't start for a month. During that month, not single phones call from them. After the first 2 week delay, I started to call them. No help whatsoever, first phone call was answered with "who are you, I don't have you on our schedule", repeated calls after that were answered with different ******** reasons why they couldn't accomplish the work. Funny thing is, after the work was accomplished they sure found my telephone number. I was called by the secretary ever 3 or 4 days requesting payment. I refused to answer the messages until Bill Walsh called. Requested a meeting with him;  of course, now he is able to find my house within an hour. He had no real answer for the delays and no concern for my inconvenience and extra cost ($2500 I had to pay someone to do the landscaping I had planned to take care of myself). </p>"

"Dave Monroe has been here several times. First to install the fence the day after we moved in. Next to enlarge it three times as we have cleared land and built a barn. He has provided new collars as we acquired new pets. He is always prompt, reliable and courteous. His prices are very competitive. "I was very satisfied. They were knowledgeable as well as skilled. Due to a fence and other barriers to access, Tony brought in a crane becuase I had asked him not to cut down a section of the fence. The fence also limited their ability to grind the stumps and they returned approximately 3 weeks later with one day notice to finish the stumps while I was having a new fence installed. "The job went extremely well. The installation was difficult due to the fact that the fence ran down a fairly steep slope between the two properties and had to contend with many trees. The old fence, which sat precisely on the property line, had been consumed by several trees over the years. Obviously, the new fence had to respect the property line while accommodating the now much larger trees. <br /> Both the designer and the installer ungrudgingly spent as much time as was needed for the neighbor and I to settle on an acceptable design between us and assisted us in resolving the inevitable issues that arise. In addition, the installer was very professional and cheerfully made adjustments to the project while the work was ongoing. <br /> The final result was a beautifully installed, custom-designed fence between our two properties. By 'custom-designed' I mean that while we had purchased a standard, commercial fence, it was clearly apparent that the installation had been specifically engineered to accommodate our unique layout and constraints. <br /> The only hiccup was that while we knew the installation would require two days, we thought the two days would be adjacent. Instead, the two installation days were separated by three days of inactivity. While this, in and of itself, is not an issue, we felt that the schedule could have been better communicated. <br /> Irrespective of the above hiccup, both the neighbor and I feel that Orange Fence is a good company and we highly recommend them. I plan to return to them for additional fence work to occur in on my property next year. <br /> <br />"

"This project went beautifully and we are so thrilled with the results. My husband and I had tried to make the stone pathway ourselves and it didn't turn out so well (we gave it our best!). What we have now is totally different-- an absolutely beautiful, properly laid and created path. I cannot emphasize adequately how courteous, professional, thoughtful, and thorough Shawn and his staff are. Shawn is very knowledgeable (in a soft-spoken way) about all aspects of landscape design. After my first meeting with him-- we walked through the yard and talked about what my husband and I wanted to do, totally non-rushed-- he provided a detailed, itemized estimate of the work. When we decided to go ahead with the work, he promptly emailed me a contract that was similarly detailed and professional. He listens carefully and also offers good ideas and fixes for problems-- he has a great eye. For the fence installation that we wanted to do, he referred me to a local fencing company that he works with and we had a great experience with them, too. Here is an example of how hard Shawn works for his customers: I wanted to be sure that we knew exactly where the property line was before installation of the new fence. Even though his company was not doing the fence installation, he spent a total of a good couple hours with me trying to figure out where the line was so that we wouldn't have to hire a surveyor. He actually sat in the backyard doing geometry (pulling out the sine and the cosine!) as we tried to determine the line based on a marker on the other side of the property and the property map I had gotten from city hall. In the end there was still a discrepancy that we couldn't be sure about so hired a surveyor anyway, but I really appreciated his help. He was often on site as the work progressed and checked and assessed his crew's work at the end of nearly every day. We added on the project of removing the stone dust from amongst the turfstone and filling in with topsoil/grass seed-- which was hugely labor intensive-- but the crew absorbed the extra work and Shawn kept me abreast of the cost changes. The only not totally positive thing I can add is that Shawn sometimes runs late. But he always calls to say that he is running late and, in my experience, it is because he is taking the time and care with his other customers that he will take with you. We will absolutely call Upton Landscape and Construction for any future projects."
