"Our service person was Bill Fanning. He was excellent and explained everything in full detail! Bill was polite and respectful, and advised us on the best new sump pump to replace our non-working sump pump. "

"This plumber is very popular.  I had to book the appointment 3 weeks out but the two-man crew was worth the wait. They worked quickly and efficiently.  I called the day before to make sure we were on schedule and it all came off without a hitch.  No waiting for parts, no special trip to the hardware store which can eat up time and money. I was very happy with the work. <br />"

"Most of the employees are very knowledgeable. they arrived promptly and pinpointed the problem. They were able to repair the problem and everything works well now. They also replaced our water heater a year ago and did a good job with that."

"After going through the long process of funding using Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority Jack Cawley was ready to go. He said it would take about a week to install 2-furnaces, 2-heat pumps and a hot water heater. After interviewing 5 other contractors and listening to their stories I found that hard to believe. But to my great surprise, it took just 6.5 working days for his team to complete the work. <br />     They were amazingly professional and probably the most technically competent of all the contractors I interviewed. Many of the other contractors left me wondering about how well they'd perform, but after the first interview with Jack, I was sold on his abilities. Jack is presently the President of the State of Connecticut Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Association and teaches plumbing classes. <br />     The team arrived promptly at 8AM every morning and went straight to work. The job supervisor would report to either me or my wife (whoever was available) exactly what he intended to accomplish that day and then at the end of the day, he'd go over everything they did. They were incredibly clean! There was NEVER a mess left behind at the end of any day and all of their work was neat and orderly. Everyday, the company owner, Jack Cawley would stop by and ask if we had any problems, questions and if we were satisfied with the progress. You will not find that kind of professionalism anywhere around Norwich. <br />     One of Jack's subcontractors was Burnside Plumbing who specialized in HVAC Heat Pumps. The owner of Burnside Plumbing is Andrew Ladd. As many reviews about him will say, he is honest to a fault. He will not stop until the job is perfect and he will never take any shortcuts. If the hardest way is the best way, that's the course he'll take. He'll return to show you how to operate the system and by the time he has completed his work, you'll feel that he should have charged you more. I can't say enough good things about him and his team. <br />     If you choose Jack Cawley and/or Burnside Plumbing for any work, I guarantee, you WILL NOT be disappointed. I highly recommend this team and would use their services again, in a heart-beat. <br />"

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"I was at my wits end trying to deal with water in our basement. We were preparing to sell our home, too, so time was of the essence. I called Budget Dry and scheduling the appointment was easy and actually enjoyable! The lady on the phone was so kind and answered my questions. We were able to get an appointment for an estimate in a few days. The guy came out, took a very detailed look at our property, and then sat down with us to explain our options. Honestly, I was a little nervous that the price was going to be $7,000+. The materials he was showing us on his iPad and his description of the sump pump made it seem like it was going to be way more than we could afford. When he told us it was going to be $1595, I was so thrilled! In addition to being budget-friendly, he was so nice and really explained how it would work for us, and why it was the best option. We were able to schedule the installation within a few weeks. They unfortunately had to reschedule at the last minute, but the company could not have been any nicer about the whole situation and fit us in two days later. When the day of installation came, the whole process took way less time than I thought! So happy to have found this company."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in East Lyme, CT

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
