"We contracted Sampson Plumbing and Heating for a new boiler and water heater, and repair of a slow (drip-like) leak in the kitchen sink plumbing. First, let us note that the quality of the work is first-rate. One- anyone, for that matter- could see immediately the workmanship: copper tubing at right angles, copper tubing running perfectly straight along the walls, neat and spotless clean. Second, and this is equally important, the workers (Chris, Brian, Rich and Mark) were exceedingly polite. Some of you might have had an experience as we have had in which we hired a tradesman, whereupon he acted as if he was doing us the favour or all favours by coming to our house. Such was not the case with Sampson P&E. Their workers were as gracious for choosing them, their company, as we were for the work they did. "We had a leak in a pipe in our wall. It was not an emergency. However my wife was upset because the laundry room and adjacent furnace room area was getting some minor flooding as a result. We managed to reduce the leak by trying to shut-off the leak area using a valve and applying tape with only partial success. This morning was one of the coldest days of the year (about 7 degrees in our neighborhood when we woke up) and the last couple of weeks has produced very cold temperatures that has probably kept plumbers mighty busy with related problems like frozen pipes, etc. <br /> After searching Angie's list, I was about to call a plumber but we called Victor's after getting a recommendation from our furnace/boiler guy instead since he was located only around 3 miles away from our home. We like to keep things local as much as possible. I called him 8:00AM this morning and Victor actually answered the phone. He was very nice on the phone and asked about the problem we were having. After describing the problem, he said he had to deal with some emergency frozen pipe issues for customers but he would call us later in the day. About 1:00PM, Victor called and asked if we would be around in about a half hour. We said yes and 35 minutes later he stopped by to help us. <br /> He came in and thoroughly assessed the situation and gave us some options. After some discussion, we left Victor to do what he had to do. He fixed the problem and even provided new insulation around the area. He tested the system and even answered a few unrelated questions we had for him and he was nice enough to give us his opinion/impression regarding these. He spent over an hour with us. He cleaned up after himself and gave us lots of free advice. Victor was very pleasant & very professional and his fee was reasonable, especially under the circumstances.  <br /> <strong>We have been lucky enough over the the years not to need a steady proper plumber but we will not hesitate to use Victor in the future.
