"When I called I expected there to be a long delay in getting someone out to look at our furnace but they arranged a visit the same day and the tech was right on time. After doing some troubleshooting he determined that the gas valve was not opening and he ordered a part. The tech returned a day or two later and replaced the gas valve and our heat works perfectly now.
I did not call around for other estimates so I don't know for sure if i could have gotten it done cheaper but some of my neighbors have told me that Countryside was more expensive than other service providers. Personally I'd rather pay a little more for professional work and I would absolutely call them again for any heating or plumbing problems.

"Sent salesmen, not roofers, to provide the quote. Did not get up on the roof to measure or inspect it. The quote was very, very high. We received follow-up calls and literature. One of the callers insisted that Sears was lowering its prices. and wanted to send another salesman out to my home; I refused, but I asked for Sears to send a revised quote in the mail, which I never got. From my perspective, this was basically a "hard sell.""

"Goettl & Verbracken did a very competent job for us under difficult conditions in an older home. Working side by side was helpful for both parties, as questions always come up. Location of installed flex gas line (next to and in the same opening as the metal dryer vent) was not anticipated. I drilled a new hold with spade bit and extension and rerouted the gas line. Otherwise, we are happy with the work done and would hire again!"

"The original repair date was July 30, 2024 8:00-5:00. At 12:04, I received an email that the technician Trever was on his way. When he had still not arrived and I had not heard from him, I tried calling the Sears Home Service number and was unable to speak to a person to ask what may have happened. I then called Choice and was told they have no control over the companies they hire to provide the repair services but would reach out to Sears to schedule another person. I then received an email that the technician commented "customer declined service" with a payment receipt for $300.00. WHAT!! Trever never arrived and we never declined service to a person who wasn't here and didn't call. I waited all day for him!! Then Sears Home Services had the nerve to send an email asking for me to rate the excellence of service. I couldn't believe it. Meanwhile my dishwasher still hasn't been repaired or evaluated. The next morning, Wednesday, July 31, William C from Sears Home Services called and said he would be here between 12:00 and 12:30. He arrived about 12:45 and went right to work trying to figure out the problem with the dishwasher. He determined that the cost of repair would exceed $450 and it would take at least a week for the parts to be delivered . He spoke to Michelle at Choice Home Warranty and she said she would let him know whether it should be repaired or replaced. She did call back a few minutes later to say it would be replaced. Not long after that I did receive an email from Choice with that news and the allowance of $246 instead of a replacement. I went to Lowe's to see what I could purchase to replace my dishwasher. The $246 barely covers the $174 delivery and installation and $50 charge to remove the old dishwasher. I ended up tapping the "accept" option b/c I felt pressured. The salesman at Lowe's said it would be at least two weeks for any new dishwasher to be delivered to the store and then scheduled for delivery and installation. Also, I have to pay up front for the entire costs involved. Your email stated it could take up to 30 days to receive the eCard for Lowe's. In the meantime, I STILL don't have a dishwasher. I would very much appreciate CHW expediting the eCard for Lowe's so I can purchase a new dishwasher."

I initially had a poor interaction with Mike that did not result in solving the above plumbing problem above. However, he has since connected with me and resolved the issue fairly.  He did an excellent job the first time I hired him (successfully unclogging a tub drain). Even though the second time we hired him was not successful (and we had to hire a second plumber to resolve the problem) we will use him in the future because he reached out to resolve our concerns in a professional manner.

You just call AHS with your problem, they get one of their screened providers to call you and set an appointment, the guy comes to either fix the problem on the spot (cost to you, $75 fixed), OR he comes, inspects, and gives a quote that may include things not covered by your contract (cost to you, $75 fixed). Then you either ok any additional costs and he fixes, or you ok if it's no additional costs and he fixes. If you don't like quote, call AHS and get a 2nd quote from another screened provider for no additional cost. What could be easier?"
