"When we returned from vacation our cable was out. Comcast tried to reset it a couple of times without success. When Comcast sent a tech out, he told us he thought we had a short in one of our lines and we had to tet the line replaced...they did not cover that. They suggested we call an electrician. <br /> <br /> When I reached out to AllStar, it took about a week for us to get on their schedule because there were several electricians out sick. When Chris did arrive, he was prompt and courteous. He asked if the other outlet in the same room was working. I was not sure and neither of us had the equipment to test it. Rather than sit around while I called Comcast, he replaced the line and we took the chance that the outlet was working. <br /> <br /> In the end, Comcast had to come back out. They told us incorrect information (they replace indoor lines all the time). So, in reality, Comcast should have fixed it. <br /> <br /> Not knowing much about how these things work, I was uninformed and paid for a repair that should have been covered by Comcast."

"A-power Electric Service was referred to me by an electrician friend of my brother. So I contacted John the owner and we set up a time for him to come by and look the job over. I had considered getting several estimates before contacting John but by the time we were done looking the job over and discussing what needed to be done and cost I was completely confident I needed to look no further for another contractor and we set up a date and time to do the work. <br />     The work began as scheduled. At the end of the first day of work the crew had eliminated the old main panel and tied all the circuits into the new main panel which replaced one of the old sub-panels and was now the main panel. They also replaced the other old  sub-panel in the basement, installed a new meter box and  service entrance(mast). The crew worked a very hard and long day to make sure the  power was back on and everything  working before they went home for the evening. We scheduled a date and they completed the remaining work on the detached garage on that date, after which John called it in to the city inspector who later came by and approved the job. <br />     It was a pleasure working with A-Power Electric. They were very professional and productive. When initially looking the job over John quickly evaluated the job, what needed to be done and provided his estimate of cost. John has a high degree of integrity and quickly won my trust and confidence. I would highly recommend A-Power Electric, and have. "This was the first time using Angie's List so I visited Specialized Electric's office to verify if other reviews seemed reasonably accurate. It was clean and orderly. The co-owners (office manager and electrician) were cordial and competent in fielding my questions. An element of luck may have been important because a hard-to-find circuit breaker was within reach. If that hadn't been the case, or if unscrupulous electricians had chosen to say that the circuit breaker wasn't available and that they'd have to replace the entire circuit panel to electrify the house again, I would have had to pay thousands. The following day Eric (trainer) and Gus (trainee) arrived right on time. They allowed me to look over their shoulders and ask questions without annoying them. Since the job wasn't difficult for them and was completed in less than the hourly rate, I did pose an unrelated wiring question but didn't expect them to do anything more than give a verbal opinion. Instead they acted in a way that was 'above and beyond the call of duty' by bringing in their ladder, did a little climbing and tightened a wire from the power pole to the house so it wouldn't drag over the roof. I've held off (5 mo.) on the review to make sure the repair was successful, and it was. The owners demonstrated high ethical standards; no fear-mongering or upselling was involved in the office. The field techs conducted themselves professionally by looking at the job from both the detailed and big picture perspectives. They seemed to be socially adaptable men who could cope with a wide range of customers. They educated me (within limits) and exhibited the right level of intensity and depth of interest in their job. In other words, they weren't complacent nor were they excessively driven by speed/deadlines that might lead to skimping on quality. While this job was relatively minor (and I still wish I could have just screwed in a fuse myself), this contact instilled a good level of confidence in them if additional service is needed in the future."

"Daniel was excellent! He repaired the outlet and later the ceiling fixture in a timely manner, answered all of my numerous questions and gave us quotes on the cost of rewiring our home. Very knowledgeable, he has excellent customer skills. When another problems arises we will use this company again and ask for Daniel. As for as the cost I do not know if it is high, or low."
