Post-construction cleaning usually takes about one hour for every 100 to 200 square feet. A team of two to four cleaners might spend 8 to 12 hours for a full-sized home. Finish by mopping the floors to pick up any remaining dust and leave your home sparkling clean.
You'll need some specific gear for post-construction cleaning. Wear a respirator, eye protection, and gloves. Vacuum floors, cracks, and dusty spots with a shop vac with a certified HEPA filter. Wet mopping helps pick up even more dust. Vacuum or shampoo carpets thoroughly. Running air filters can also help catch any leftover dust particles floating around.
It's best to schedule your cleaning service one to two days after construction wraps up. This gives any remaining dust and debris time to settle so the cleaning team can tackle every spot thoroughly. Be sure to coordinate with your contractor to avoid any unexpected delays.
