"My experience with Oliver and New Age Masonry was excellent from beginning to end. I knew from the 3 or 4 quotes that I got for my tuckpointing project that he would be my choice based on his price and experience. Oliver is honest, very experienced, easy to do business with, and he delivered on what he promised. The day of the project, he showed up on time, early in the morning got busy and just plain got the job done. He matched the mortar as best as possible for a 51 year old house. He grinded and patched all of the holes that were drilled in to the mortar by the previous owner (there were a lot), he grinded and patched areas where the mortar had crumbled away, he reset some stone window ledges that were loose, he cut out and replaced some bricks that were damaged as well, matching the bricks pretty well. He stopped and answered my questions when I asked them and his partner was very focused and worked hard. Oliver even gave me tips on how to clean my brick. I am extremely happy with the work they did and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs brick work done. I have peace of mind now knowing that my brick work is repaired. "We worked with JD from Green City Gardens to design and plant new landscaping in the front of our house. This included removing the existing shrubs, adding organic materials and planting the new flowers and bushes. In addition, JD, Doug, Carl and John removed two existing trees which had died and replaced them with new trees. "Rivera Concrete Paving's $8,500 bid became $11,000. Owner Magdiel Rivera adds charges after you're committed and doesn't follow through after payment. Cost increases: I mentioned roots upfront - he said equipment could handle it, then charged $450. Said grading unnecessary, then created false urgency claiming we HAD to grade before concrete. Later said could grade after. Added $1,800. Crew broke drainage pipes, charged me $250. Couldn't move AC condenser despite my asking during estimate. Payment tactics: Said pay "when satisfied." Then requested half early, then full payment before done. When I said work incomplete, he asked "Don't you trust me?" then broke promises. Broken promises: Walkway cured wrong, no follow-up. $1,800 grading included 3-month landscaping - no communication. Promised debris cleanup, later said not responsible. Damaged 4-month fence, couldn't repair properly, paid $300 after pressure. Dismisses costs at estimate, adds them later. Makes promises, then excuses."
