At SodFather Landscapes and Irrigation, we treat every customer the way we want to be treated. That's why our business has grown over the years with only "word of mouth" advertising. We still believe in the Golden Rule to our core, but we brought out the website so that our customers and potential customers everywhere could see all of the services we provide, as well as some examples of work we have completed.

"Everyone was nice enough but, didn't follow through to what was expected. It was a fight until the bitter end and still, things weren't done correctly. Nails are left on the walls and painted over instead of removed, spackled, sanded, and painted. When I pointed this out, they just removed the nails and didn't spackle and paint over. Painted over wallpaper in bathrooms but didn't bother to float. They tried to charge me additional to have it done correctly. They redid the bathrooms but failed to complete them as they should have been (some seams still showing). The slab was not leveled before installing the flooring. Sanded ceiling instead of scraping popcorn ceiling, so white dust was and still is everywhere. Instead of using the paint color, I requested they just painted all trim white! The 3/4-inch round has chunks cut out of it and it was not fixed. Forgot to install electrical outlet covers to walls and acted like I asked for their first-born child to do so. The threshold for bathroom tiles and laminate flooring was not installed and when they did, they cracked the tile in the bathroom. Instead of letting me know, I guess they just hoped I wouldn't notice. Overall, just sub-par work. If pride had been taken in the work done and performed properly, they would have finished sooner and made a profit. Just sub-par work. I have another contractor coming in to fix what was not completed properly. I would not recommend nor hire again."

Watch for warning signs, including decreased water pressure, unusual noises like grinding or rattling, frequent cycling on and off, visible leaks, or complete failure to start. A sudden increase in your water bill might indicate inefficiency or leaks.
If your sprinkler heads sputter or provide inconsistent coverage, your pump may be failing. Consider replacement if your pump is 10 to 15 years old, especially if it's requiring increasingly frequent repairs.
Most sprinkler pumps last approximately 15 years before requiring more frequent repairs. When your pump reaches 10 to 15 years of service, it's wise to begin planning for replacement. Regular maintenance, proper winterization, and addressing minor issues promptly can help maximize your pump's operational life. Environmental factors like water quality and usage patterns also influence longevity.
Higher-quality pumps often provide better reliability and performance, potentially justifying their increased initial cost. Premium models may include improved components and longer warranty coverage.
For larger properties or systems that operate frequently, investing in a better-quality pump can reduce long-term maintenance expenses and provide more consistent performance. Consider your specific irrigation needs and expected usage when evaluating pump options.
Emergency replacements often include premium labor rates of approximately $200 per hour compared to standard rates of $50 to $110 per hour. For a standard two-hour installation, this represents an additional $180 to $300 in labor costs alone.
Emergency situations also limit your selection options to immediately available models, potentially affecting both price and suitability. Whenever possible, plan replacements in advance to avoid these premium charges.
