"Fabulous!! Greg and Zach were very professional and polite. They worked quickly and cleaned as they went. I was never left with a mess to clean up after them. They went above and beyond to make sure my experience went as smooth as possible. They made what initially appeared to be an impossible task, very possible. After hiring two previous contractors that did not complete the project I was getting discouraged. Greg and Zach came in and restored my faith in humanity :) I highly recommend them for any and all projects"

"We contracted him to remodel our kitchen in May and he did an excellent job. He was the most expensive of the bids we received, but you get what you pay for. What we liked most about him was that he doesn't sub-contract out work. He has another worker helping him, and they did everything themselves. He was, again, extremely good; he always kept us up to date on what they were doing. He was very careful with our property making sure to cover items when they working. He was always on time. He did some drawings on the computer to show us what the final product would look like and made sure that he checked with us along the way on exactly what we were looking for. He was really good at sitting down with us prior to starting the project and making sure he knew exactly what we wanted. He went as far as to take us to the wholesale store where he was going to purchase the items to make sure we got to pick out what we wanted."

"We were moving our laundry room and making a mud room in the old laundry room. We called, talked to them and they came out to review the request, take measurements and help us with the design and layout. We went down to the showroom and were shown a large varieity of cabinets, finishes, and styles as well as counter tops and sinks. Once our choices were made they completed the quote and got back to us within the week. We settled on the installtion dates, and when personal problems arose, they were very co-operative in changing the dates and doing the work on our schedule. They were always ontime, worked effectively and were very professional. They never left a mess and were respectful of us while they were working. Since we were doing some of the work ourselves, all new trim and baseboard, we were given tips to help make our work easier. Jerry and his son Russell were very polite and kind and it was fun to have them doing this work for us. Lori, Jerry's wife works in the showroom and was always there to help me with descions and give me input on what might work best. <br /> The entire experieince working with 1st Choice Cabinetry was great and we are planning to use them again on another project in our home. <br /> <br />"

"We had a great need for additional bookshelves, and decided to add them inside two walk-in closets.  Jack came out, took very exact measurements and made use of every inch of space. His drawings were excellent, very detailed and precise. <br /> <br /> Jack offered a choice of three different shelf finishes and he and his colleague went to work, finishing up in just a few hours. <br /> <br /> We couldn't be more pleased with the results and overall experience.   We highly recommend Chapel Hill Signature Cabinetry for your custom shelving needs!"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Emmett, ID

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
