"Installation was very professional and seamless. My only complaint is that we were advised to have "our" painters stain the doors, i.e. not included in the estimated cost for the doors. I did not realize that it would cost another $900. to complete this process. I would have appreciated a ball park figure for this additional bill."

"Michiana Window World is extremely professional in every respect. <br /> I requested bids to replace my windows from three different contractors - two recommended by local people, and one from Anties List (Michiana Window World). Of the two locally recommended, one ignored me with promises to call back, but not doing so; a second came out (with sidearm), measured windows, but never returned with a quote.  The Window World rep came out with paperwork, measuring tools, and an example window. We saw the product and knew the estimated cost before he left. <br /> We paid 50% up front and scheduled an appointment. Window World later followed-up with us to be sure the date would still work. <br /> When they arrived on the scheduled date, the crew started at 10 AM and had completed their work by 3 PM. There was virtually no evidence that they had even been there. All debris and materials were cleaned up and taken away.  <br /> We have white aluminum siding on our house. Their white vinyl frames and trim worked very nicely.  <br /> The windows have a life-time guarantee and currently we are able to recover about $70/window as an energy savings rebate from the gas company. This was pointed out by the Window World Rep. <br /> Seriously - this company is a MUST when you are requesting a bid on your windows.  <br />"

"So, I had B-Dry come out and give me an estimate on an egress window, all of that was professional enough, but I asked the guy a bunch of questions and basically he gave me all of the wrong answers. I asked him about a header, and he said I didn't need one (I do! For sure. Just because it's an old house without a header now doesn't mean it shouldn't have one). I asked him if it required permits and he said it didn't (I contacted the county office, and they confirmed that I absolutely need permits for this work, and if b-dry is doing this work without permits, that's city regs). I asked him about the need for a drain, and he said it didn't need one cause the basement was waterproofed (code requires a drain! I just read it myself!). And for all of that, their price was only about 500 bucks below the other quotes I got that included the header, drain and pulling permits. If you call b-day, and you do work with them (and I am sure they do great work, they are a big company with lots of business in this area) make sure they pull permits, install a drain and install a header! It's possible their sales guy was just clueless and their installers would have done all of that, but it made me nervous enough to go with someone else. If their sales guy doesn't know the right answers to those questions, it's going to cost them business."

"I wish I could give them an A minus, but I'll round it up to an A.  Our basement walls are cinderblock masonry, and for the 8 years we've owned the home, we've had water issues on the west side wall.  The problem is compounded by poor grading on the patio.  We had a number of engineers and foundation companies make recommendations.  Finally we decided that of all the solutions an interior drain line installed along the bottom of the wall, imbedded in the concrete floor, was probably best and would not risk the integrity of the wall itself.  Two vendors gave us estimates for this solution  and Americrawl was almost $1k under the other.  They seemed less pushy and Bob, the estimator, certainly knew the situation well.  They got us scheduled quickly.  The crew arrived on time.  (Bob was not present, which is always a shame in these situations, but quite common.)  In any case, the guys called me about 6 hours later and I came home from the office to find them packed up and ready to leave.  When  they showed me the new drain line and the new sump pump installed as well, I noticed they stopped about 4 feet short of the entire length of the wall.  I said I thought they were supposed to run the drain the entire length of the wall.  The very young supervisor said they were to stop at the sump pump.  I suggested we look at the drawing on the estimate.  Without protesting to me, but with a lot of frustration toward each other, they got their tools back out of the truck, jack hammered out the remaining 4 feet and installed the rest of the drain as drawn on the estimate.  Because I had to hold them to their own blue print, I'd be tempted to give them no better than a B.  But bottom line - even with all the snow, ice, and nonstop rain we've had since, the back of my basement is completely dry.  We'd call them again."

We manufacture Advanced Energy Panels (AEPs). AEPs are a retrofit for historic windows or any window people can't afford or don’t wish to replace. AEPs are interior window insulating panels and can be installed in any building –office, home or industrial. AEPs have a higher insulation and air sealing rating and provide greater comfort than most replacement windows, yet they are a fraction of the cost. AEPs are custom made to fit over existing openings, protecting, preserving and improving your existing windows.
