"I hired Mr. Appliance to come into my home and repair my laundry machine. They came in and repaired my washer and stove. They attempted to fix the microwave however, it would have cost more to fix it than to repair it. I greatly appreciated their honestly just trying to charge me a ton of money. They were very professional and educated me on everything they were doing. I will recommend them to others."

"The tech that came out had a chip on his shoulder. He could not find the exact location of the leak, and assumed it was something it wasn't. He would've replaced a very expensive part unnecessarily. The owner is a much better worker but he was not available."

"I submitted my problem and need for someone to come out and fix my front loading washer, and as soon as I finished the questionnaire online, called emergency appliance repair. The gentlemen already had my online information! We then discussed the error code and issues with my washer. He then asked some questions, explained my problem and how to fix it (by just simply using HE detergent). At no charge! I am sure a lot of other repair companies would have come out to the house and charged me a fee for that. But he solved my problem right then and there over the phone. I will use them in the future for sure! Thanks so much - Amanda"

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Ennis, TX

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
