"I highly, highly, highly recommend Valley Roofing & Exteriors to you!! You could not ask for a better company. From start to finish, they were wonderful. They gave me an inspection, provided pictures, and confirmed that I needed a new roof as I had suspected. Having pictures to view though was extremely helpful, as well as an explanation of what was wrong. They then scheduled the work, immediately after a contract was signed and payment was given for half of the work, and completed my new roof in 4 days! It looks beautiful and the Valley Roofing crew work HARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!! VERY, VERY HARD. You will not be disappointed. The price was reasonable, and they offer a lifetime guarantee on their work, and also explained to me the warranty provided by Malarkey who manufacture the shingles. I worked with their project manager, Joe Johnson. He is wonderful. Very friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. I really, really recommend them to you. You will get terrific work done, get all of your questions answered, and get a great price for your roof. They also do IMPECCABLE CLEAN UP. You will not have any debris around your house once they are finished. Really terrific!"

"We needed a repair on a section of our roof due to leakage in a prior storm. My River Roofing workers were Ronnie and Brendan; they did an excellent job. They were reliable, skilled, informative, and professionally cordial. They completed the job within several hours and I am confident the leakage has been repaired in time for the forecasted rains ahead. River Roofing has provided my home with consistently good service over the years. "

"Larabee roofing did a good job. After the repair, he walked over the rest of the roof. He tapped in several loose staples and gave me an assessment of the condition of the overall roof."

"Huey and Son's Roofing reroofed our house and barn in 2017. The roof has been great. The recent snow storm broke many branches onto our roof and punctured it in several places and damaged the SW corner of the house roof. I called their office for help. The next day Shaun came and looked at the damage with me and said they would repair it the next day. We had several holes through the roof into the attic! They were there the next morning on time and by the end of the morning the roof was repaired with a careful, efficient job and you would think nothing had happened to look at it which is what our son said when he looked at it. They are a terrific company in my opinion."

"These guys are very professional and knowledgeable! They came by and estimated the work, and they went above and beyond to patch leaks (left for me by a previous home owner) and fix shoddy roofing. I am so grateful to have had their expert eyes up on our roof, diagnosing and fixing problems. They pulled out rotting wood in one section, and filled nail holes. They roofed around vents that were leaking, and they replaced the high spine on our farmhouse. The price was more than fair- I fully intend on hiring this company to do a full roof replacement when it's time."

"The installation of our new ceiling lights was done efficiently and meticulously. They installed them on the weekend and were so thorough, we didn't even know they had been there, except our office is bright again! We will definitely hire them again for our future projects."

"JC was wonderful, knowing that we were under the gun to get the repair done quickly, he was able to make time and did a beautiful job repairing our kitchen pipe and surrounding wall and cabinets. He gave us a list of things that we could do and/or purchase in advance to limit his time so that our cost was reduced. JC was honest and very flexible. JC was also very pleasant to work with, and although he doesn't list it, he is very good with little children who are interested in watching him work. In addition, he was very willing to answer a few odds and ends questions I had about other issues I had with the house. I would work with JC again any day."

"My carport collapsed from very wet, heavy snow. Even though it was a very busy time for him, Matt Hunter came up with a week of when I contacted him. The final cost of the job was less than his estimate and the new carport is much sturdier and better looking than the previous one. He also installed two handrails for the staircase inside my house and a grab bar in my shower. The cost was more than fair and the quality of the finished work was great. I would highly recommend Matt for any construction project."

"This is my second time using Squeaky Clean  and I am so glad I found them. My roof pitch is dangerous,  and being surrounded by fir trees and maples, it presents quite a challenge by November.  It is worth every penny to me to have competent people handling this job and as a bonus they are personable, ethical, and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended! <br /> <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Eugene, OR

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
