"I hired him to re-build our deck, this was a forty two thousand dollar deck. He mostly completed the job, but the inspector failed it due to the railing not being compliant on the stairs. He kept promising to get it resolved, but nothing was ever done. So I have a really expensive deck that never passed inspection, he has not made any attempt to resolve the issue. Now the fasica boards are buckling and pulling away from the deck, and he is not responding to that either. The railings were not installed per the instructions and droop in several places, I had to fix a few spots that were looking terrible. The railings were not even close to correct on the stairs. I would avoid this company, but if you do use them, ensure absolutely everything is done, permits finalized prior to making final payment."

"JNM Home Improvement does excellent work. When I called, I had a quick call back & meeting set up with owner Jesse Delarosa. We had a rather elaborate but sagging & rotting deck that needed reinforcement and in some places reconstruction. We didn’t want to go through the expense of replacing the entire deck. Jesse visited the house, described a plan that would rebuild the deck to safety code. He had the plan in writing to us that evening and got the job done in a little less than a week. "Ryan was amazing. He rehabbed our historic front porch in Shaw and was even able to retain some of the original decorative parts of the roof. Not only did this safe us a lot of money, but the quality of the woodwork he installed is simply incredible (he milled the spindles of the railing and the railing posts) - even the city inspector commented on the exceptional quality of the project. Throughout the process Ryan was very professional and responsive and he also provided us with a lot of information on how to treat the deck so it will last a long time. Several neighbors have already asked for his business card because they are now also thinking about doing some work on their homes!"

"I had a horrible experience with Maris. Shoddy workmanship, terrible customer service, and zero follow up. I was assured by their salesman Dylan that they did not use contractors and only used employees – which is why I chose them – and this was a false claim used to get my business. Not one window was done correctly by the contractors. If you want windows installed with caulking that appears like a five-year-old did it, go ahead and hire Maris. You will need to clean up daily upon their departure as they don’t lay tarps down to catch debris or vacuum their mess. Two windows were ordered incorrectly, then one of these windows arrived broken, and had to be re-ordered for a third time. Additionally, windowsills that were ordered and part of the contract were not installed, which then meant they had to do them over and jam the windows out and back in again which created scratches and black marks on the windows. I still have window foam that is visible at the front of my house which looks tacky. It’s been 15 months, and these problems have not been corrected to my satisfaction, and there was no efforts made to make this right despite claims by their owner Ken that he was going to “create a win-win situation” on March 21. I haven’t heard from him since."
