"Jason took our stairs to the basement that were a tiny spiral mid evil type stair case and made them so amazing. He also took out 7 layers of flooring in our kitchen and laid new real wood to match our current wood floor. He also drove out of his way to pick up our new granite. He came back a couple years later and redid our entire front porch and did some electrical and other odd and end jobs. He is an honest man and Works very hard."

"Excellent contractor and employees. They removed and replaced a damaged driveway and poured a 26' by 30' parking pad. They lowered my outside sump pump so it was more pleasing to the sight and installed a drain that ties into my pump lines. They all went above and beyond to see that I received quality work for my project. They gave me suggestions on how to make my project better and extended a drain to the curb and replaced a sidewalk section, too. They even back hoed my flower garden for next Spring planting! They were more than courteous and professional at all times. I was well satisfied with the cost of the project and they gave me a warranty, too! Thank you, Dave, Seth and Pepe for a job well done!! My neighbors have told me how nice everything looks now."

"They were great! We had our driveway and retaining walls extracted, replaced and extended. Jared (owner of JKC) worked with us and was open to any ideas we had. We actually had an additional walkway and steps poured next to our new driveway and walls. The water service line had to moved and I wanted to run electric throughout retaining walls so I could install lights. Jared was actually very passionate and encouraging with all our different ideas. We plan on doing more concrete work with JKC and will definitely contact them in the near future. I would definitely recommend this company for any concrete projects. Professional and experienced contractors, A+ rating."

"Keep close communication. Know something about what you want done. Be patient. Ask questions. Everyone does things different. But call them on short cut that you know is wrong. Ex. You do not put tile down w/o backer board first. It will crack. It may be shorter but trouble later. Check on their other clients... Pray for right person. 😁 Be blessed."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Ewing, KY

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
