"I signed the contract 10/23/19 with an expected pick up date by the end of the month. Heard on 10/30 that the transport had broken down and needed repairs. Talked to contact on 10/31 and reviewed alternative arrangements. Second transport option bailed out due to an emergency. Third option discussed. 11/05. I followed up and was told a driver was on the way. Pickup occurred 11/7 and delivery was 11/12. I paid extra for door to door service, but the transport could not navigate the residential streets, so pickup was in a mall parking lot. For the money paid, things could have gone more smoothly. Communication was okay, but given the starts and stops more wold have been better."

I needed the closet installed by a certain date as I was having planned surgery and they provided a date and met the date. The closet was beautiful. More than I expected. "Worked primarily with Chip, John and Brian. We really wanted to get rid of our drop ceiling and the dining room and take out the wall between it and the kitchen to give us an open floor plan. We live in a house build in the 1920's so I was worried what we would find when we started opening things up. The Home Improvement Coach spent a lot of time with me prior to the project starting and because of their experience working in older homes, made me feel comfortable that if anything did come up, they could handle it. They did a fantastic job and completed the project on time and on budget. My biggest things when evaluating contractors are quality of work and communication. The Home Improvement Coach excels at both. I was happily surprised during the project at their willingness to clean up thoroughly at the end of every day. Even though they were working at the house for a couple weeks, they understood that we still had to live there and did everything they could to allow us to be comfortable in the evenings. Every time we had questions or concerns, Chip and team were quick and happy to respond. We made some changes during the project and to no surprise, they were happy to accommodate. "Andrew and his crew did a beautiful job on my kitchen. The remodel included removing and replacing drywall on 2 walls and the ceiling, recessed lighting, new tile flooring, new cabinets, granite countertops and new backsplash. They paid a lot of attention to details to ensure that everything looks good. That is important to me since I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist. From the start, the goal seemed to be to provide the best outcome that my budget would allow. They always kept me in the loop when unexpected issues popped up, which is bound to happen in a 63 year old house. In addition to the planned work, they ended up replacing insulation, adding an additional gas shut off valve and re-doing the wiring so it is all grounded. (None of it was grounded before.) All of that plus some plumbing revisions added up to an additional $3680, but it all needed to be done and done properly. Lauren Baldwin (Cabinets by Amy and Lauren) came up with a beautiful design and was very helpful and patient through several changes that were needed to stay within my budget. We changed the countertops 3 times which also required changes to flooring and backsplash choices. The end result looks like something you would see on HGTV! All in all, it was easy to work with Andrew and his team. They cleaned up every night, kept me updated and answered all my questions. They brought in experts to assist with plumbing, drywall and some electrical issues. With the exception of the above noted additional work and a few days delay on the granite, due to a machine breakdown, I think it all went as smoothly as could be expected in an older home. In the end, I went over my original “hoped for” budget and even a even a little over the upper end, due to the extra costs but you get what you pay for. I would recommend A.B. Graham Contractors and would hire again if I need something done."

"John Doering, the home inspector who operates DIR Home Inspections, was really good at walking around the property, asking questions and providing a pretty complete explanation of whatever I asked about as he toured my home for the inspection. He clearly separated things that were important to do from things that were less important, and that allowed me to schedule a few repairs and fix-ups/maintenance jobs in good weather. For one or two maintenance activities where I was considering a pretty costly replacement or repair, he suggested ways to tackle them that turned out to be much less expensive and complicated. His background in construction gives him great ability to distinguish situations that may have some structural significance from those that only require some cosmetic improvement. John was a pleasure to deal with -- his advice onsite plus his written report were excellent!"
