"Mostly happy with the work done. This project turned into a total revamp of my back yard and it was expensive but the cost was appropriate. They graded my lawn, installed a patio, a french drain, tied in the gutters to the french drain, created a gravel area for my dogs and over seeded my back yard as well as put up a temp fence to protect the new grass from my dogs and shored up my fence from the inside to prevent digging/potential escape. Estimates were clear & concise (Molly is awesome!). The team was fantastic, very professional and knowledgeable. It took about 5 days and those men worked HARD! The only flaw is that the french drain does not work efficiently. I have reached out to Tom many times and although he stopped by to look at the problem once, it has not been resolved."

"RECOMMENDATION of Garden Artisans We contacted Garden Artisans and several landscape companies near Princeton for consultation regarding replacement of aged rhododendrons, azaleas and evergreen shrubs damaged by wet and heavy snows in recent years. Garden Artisans was the first to reply to our inquiries and immediately scheduled a Saturday survey and consultation. Peter Jamet, the owner, came and discussed our objectives, and budget. We have a colonial home sited on a corner lot on 3 acres with old growth hardwoods in Princeton. As we don������������t have deer fencing and do have deer, we wanted deer-proof landscaping and natural looking plantings. Within a week of the consultation Peter was ready to make a present his design proposal. He brought scales drawings of the plantings across the front and side of our house and a bed near the driveway entrance surrounding our carriage lamppost and mailbox. Together with the drawings he had photos of every tree species, shrub, flower and grass proposed for the plantings. He described why he had chosen them. Part of his plan of scale and distribution was to create color throughout the seasons and evergreen color sustained throughout the year with certain elements of the planting. He has tailored the cost to our budget and offered both upgrade options and cost saving options for each of the specimen trees. He recommended the ideal time for planting so as to get the plantings successfully established before the winter. We set a date and Peter with his crew came and prepared the plot exactly as scheduled. Two weeks before the planting he provided photos of the exact specimen trees and shrubs to be installed. Once the beds were prepared Peter again came to position the specimens personally and ask our review and approval before actually putting the plants in the ground. Immediately after the planting we were taking a three week holiday and Peter provided attending and watering to ensure the health our new landscaping. He again came, unprompted and reviewed all the shrubs six weeks after planting. The plantings are now ten weeks in the ground and every plant is in excellent condition. We are extremely pleased with the design and selected species. It has been a pleasure working with Garden Artisans. The work was done exactly on schedule and was professional and very careful in removing old shrubbery and cleaning up and reseeding areas not to be replanted. The entire job was done within our budget in a very artfully conceived, professional and carefully planned manner. We have owned several homes and done projects of this scale but have never had this level of precision and care in the design, selection of specimens, planting and after-care. In other projects we have experienced a number of trees and shrubs dying within weeks of the planting and have had to pay to replace them. "In late fall, I noticed that a piece of a stone wall abutting my driveway had broken off and was drifting into the driveway. Concerned that the wall would fall into the driveway, I contacted Quinn Brothers Masonry. They came out within two days, assessed the situation and gave me an estimate. The work involved taking down both walls, knocking off old mortar on the stones, and removing ivy. After the walls were taken down, protective covering was placed on the exposed dirt, and drainage pipes and gravel were installed. They then rebuilt the walls, using the original stones. While rebuilding the walls, Patrick Quinn advised me that my stone house foundation had been compromised by paint and old mortar. I authorized additional work to restore the foundation. The paint on the stone foundation was removed and the old mortar was taken out. Then, the entire foundation had new mortar installed. I am extremely pleased with the results and will definitely hire them again."

"I highly recommend Roca Construction.  Mr. Roca showed up with his team ? on time and ready to work. 

He carefully sealed off the room from the rest of the house to minimize dust in my home and began demolition.  The thorough clean up after the demo by his crew was much appreciated.  Then the room was fully insulated.  They even uncovered a channel that went al the way up to the second floor between the walls that had never had insulation before. Mr. Roca suggested that they build in a box to contain the insulation and properly insulate the upper floor room.  This to an extra day and he did it at a fair and very small increase to the bill. I am sure that the savings to our gas bill will make up for the small increase in price. The new second floor certainly made the  second floor room much warmer immediately. They insulated the room they were renovating very thoroughly - cleverly reusing some of the insulation that had been there before. 

Then they framed in a new subfloor and replaced sheetrock where it needed replacing. They installed a new wooden floor ? thinking through how the longest pieces of wood should be used.  They also framed in a new ceiling replacing the ugly plywood fake beadboard with beautiful real beadboard - which comes in 2-board slats. It is a lot of work to install this material. Then the entire room was primed and painted.  Using window trim that we specially ordered from a lumber yard - milled to match the other trim in our house, they did a perfect job mitering the corners. They also, installed cove molding - which was constructed from three different cove molding pieces (complicated) as to match the historic cove molding. Then the  final painting was completed.

Mr. Roca is an excellent contractor. His team is professional, highly skilled, responsive, careful, and neat.  They are real perfectionist. The mitered corners were skillfully completed. The floor and ceiling beautiful and level, and the paint job was perfect.  The sidewalk and apron paving was also perfect ? so well done that five of our neighbors hired Roca to re-do their sidewalks too. Now we have a whole block of beautiful sidewalks. 
 
Mr. Roca's team are friendly and quiet. They cleaned up the job site each evening.  They have a good work ethic and show up on time. They did not rush the work and as a result  their work product was excellent too.  The job took about 3 weeks. 

We are very picky about renovations on our historic home. We have fired more than one contractor over the years. My husband is an amateur woodworker - he is very picky about work on the house.
