"Alex Jr and his team, including Alex Sr, were terrific. Alex Jr is extremely personable and friendly. He arrived on time for our appointment to discuss a new walkway for our house and came armed with ideas and photos of different paver options to consider and suggestions for what would work best. We chose to keep the S-shaped curve of the prior path, which is trickier to install than a straight walk, but installation went very smoothly and on schedule, and was finished in two days. We couldn't be happier with the result. The walkway is beautiful and a huge upgrade to our home. I would definitely hire Alex Masonry again."

"John responded to my inquiry immediately. He was extremely knowledgeable and willing to work with me on repairing the 18 year-old paver patio around our pool. We discussed several options and decided on the one that was best to suit my needs. The project was started within days and finished in a week in 90 degrees+ heat and humidity. The result was a newly constructed patio. The work was neat and complete and professionally hand crafted. We would recommend John and his crew highly."

"I am writing this review to acknowledge the power of Angie?s <br /> list as well as to express my satisfaction with the work done by M & M <br /> Construction at my home in Hartford.  We <br /> have a 100 year old house which one rainy day flooded in the basement ? the first <br /> time this had happened in the 15 years we have owned the house.  The flooding was not rainwater, it was backed <br /> up sewage!!!  We had a local plumber, <br /> suggested by friends, check it out as an emergency and after hours and hours of <br /> expensive manipulation managed to cause the backed up sewage to drain and <br /> identified that a main sewage line had partially separated.  The problem was however not solved and with <br /> the next rainstorm flooding repeated in the basement as well as through the <br /> kitchen sink, which caused the entire hardwood floor to buckle.  A repeat visit by the same plumber claimed <br /> that this was an entirely new problem!  <br /> Repeated calls to have this and another plumbing services to address the <br /> problem were futile.  <br /> Searching Angie?s list for service providers to replace the <br /> sewer line led us to M & M Construction.  <br /> On line reviews of them were very favorable, but we did not know anyone <br /> for whom they had done any work.  We got <br /> in touch with Anthony (Principal with the company) and he immediately came out to examine the site and provided <br /> us with an estimate and work proposal.  <br /> We took a chance on the fact that reviews of Anthony?s were a reflection <br /> of what to expect.  He promptly began the <br /> work as proposed.  Searches at the MDC for <br /> layouts of the sewage line turned up negative.  <br /> The only record on file was the point at which the house connects to the <br /> city sewage system.  They began work from <br /> the property edge and found a drain line.  <br /> Went through the entire process of replacing the line but when tested <br /> the problem had not been solved!  So <br /> Anthony and his crew after putting a camera down, identified the brake point of <br /> the sewage line and it turned out that the house has two lines that tie into <br /> the a single line under the sidewalk.  So <br /> they re-dug, found the second line and replaced it at no additional cost to <br /> us!  It was a lot of work, and during <br /> this process Anthony kept us fully informed.  <br /> During this ongoing work, our trust in Anthony grew, and <br /> knowing that we needed a new roof, we asked Anthony if he knew anyone who could <br /> redo the roof.  To our surprise, he <br /> collaborates with a roofer on roof work.  <br /> We visited sites where they were replacing a roof and had good opinions <br /> of their work from the homeowner.  We <br /> contracted Anthony to redo the roof!  The <br /> roofers did a very good job and we are very happy with the work. <br /> As we also needed a new driveway due to flooding in the rear <br /> of the house, and knowing that Anthony had the heavy equipment necessary for <br /> excavation work, we engaged him on another project to redo the driveway and <br /> redesign the parking area behind the house.  <br /> Working with him we designed a permeable paver parking area, with <br /> permeable pavers lining the driveway.  <br /> The layout of the pavers and the driveway was completed before the <br /> winter snows and now what is left is touch ups to complete the project and grow <br /> grass in the permeable pavers.  Heavy <br /> rains in the Fall that would normally have resulted in major flooding in the <br /> rear of the house are a thing of the past!  <br /> The snow melts that have recently occurred resulted in no flooding giving <br /> us confidence of a job well done.  <br /> Planting grass where the work was done and other minor touchups still <br /> remain for the spring which we are fully confident will be completed.  <br /> Anthony is trustworthy, a perfectionist in his work, and <br /> very responsive to questions we raised during all aspects of the work he has <br /> done at our home.  I have told Anthony <br /> that he is welcome to bring any client to see the work he has done for us at <br /> any time.  <br /> Thank you Anthony. <br />"

"I could not be happier with my choice. Shawn was professional, friendly, and knowlegable from first contact. He was not the cheapest nor the most expensive estimate I received to complete the work. His quote included more than the cheaper and more expensive estimates I had received. Once hired he began immediately and removed the trees from the house in the first day. It took a little time to complete the job but his concern was the ruin of a lawn in pristine condition. He waited for the ground to dry before starting the portion of the work that required heavy equipment. The lot is also on a very steep downward angle . I feel that he completed the job in a timely manner considering that the weather continued to work against him. Upon finishing he left the property in excellent condition. He removed the 7 foot diameter root ball as well so one would never know the wreck it all had been . The only tell tale sign is where he graded, seeded, and fertilized the portion on the yard where the trees had fallen and gouged the ground."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Falls-village, CT

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
