"Do not buy a Kodiak home. My floor plan was wrong. They didn't send me my insulation and have been trying to get a refund for 2 years. They also charged me 15% more after the plans went to manufacturing. This has been a nightmare to say it mildly. There are other steel frame home companies out there."

Many things can go wrong when it comes to your roof. Some would say that the roof is the most important part of a home, protecting everything beneath from the elements and providing protection against costly future repairs. Improper installation of an older roof can cost homeowners thousands in repairs. You can save those thousands by getting a roof inspection from Nodak Roofing.

"I CAN’T RECOMMEND RICK HALVORSON CONSTRUCTION ENOUGH!!!! IN A TIME WHEN IT IS INCREDIBLY HARD TO FIND AND TRUST A CONTRACTOR TO DO A JOB RIGHT, ON BUDGET, AND TO BE THERE WHEN YOU NEED THEM, RICK HALVORSON CONSTRUCTION IS THE ONLY ONE TO CALL!! Recently, my family and I decided to renovate our basement instead of moving to a new home. This is something we’ve never been a part of and were frankly pretty nervous about. After being in our home for 11 years, we’d built enough equity to get a loan, and remodel, but we had a very specific limit on how much we could spend. So when it came time to find a contractor we wanted to make sure we picked someone who was trustworthy first and foremost, reputable, and knowledgeable. We had worked with Rick before on some improvements to windows, doors, siding, etc, through the City of Fargo Renaissance program, and so naturally he was on our short list of contractors to obtain bids from. Rick’s bid was the best of the 3 that we received, and given our history with him and his business, we felt best going with him. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW GOOD THIS DECISION WAS! The work done by Rick’s crew, most notably Ryan Schuette, was so much better than we could have hoped it would be. Anytime a decision needed to be made on how to best do a particular job, it was always done the right way and not the cheapest way. There was never a concern about keeping it cheap, only doing what was best for the house, and for the client. And I can’t thank them enough. Add to them their subcontractors, JDP Electric, and Magnell Plumbing. Scott from JDP was awesome, and listened to all my request for power outlet positioning, light switches, smurf tube, data lines, phone lines, everything down to the color temperature in the ceiling lights, and he made sure it was done just right. Mike Magnell from Magnell plumbing went so far above and beyond that I don’t even know what to say. Example: he recognized the fact that at some point in the future we might get a fridge with water, and ice maker etc… and noticed that once the bathroom ceiling was in we’d never get a water line in, so he just ran a water line, even though it wasn’t part of the bid, and that’s just one of the many extra value’s he provided. Rick and his team of workers, and subs are thoughtful, courteous, thorough, accurate, and precise with the work they do. Their is no notch higher than them, they are THE TOP NOTCH when it comes to this work! DO NOT hesitate to call them!"

Manufactured homes roll out of the factory on a permanent steel chassis that meets HUD codes and lets you move the entire structure later. Modular homes, by contrast, arrive in sections that a crew sets on a permanent foundation, just like a stick‑built house. If you want the durability, customization options, and traditional financing of a site‑built home—but still appreciate factory efficiency—a modular build is the better fit.
Adding a modular wing usually runs 10% to 15% less than building a standalone unit. You’ll save on site work and keep the footprint smaller, yet still gain the extra square footage you need. Because modular pricing is tied to square feet, trimming size is the quickest way to trim cost without sacrificing quality.
Yes, modular homes retain their value if built and maintained well. Appraisers use the same criteria for modular and stick‑built homes, so a well‑maintained modular home keeps pace with the local market. Boost value further with buyer‑friendly upgrades—think high ceilings, efficient HVAC, and durable finishes. Those touches help your investment stay competitive for the long haul.
Once the modules hit your site, crews usually need four to six weeks to set and finish the home. Counting design, permits, and site prep, plan on four to six months from contract to move‑in. Stay in close touch with your builder to keep the schedule on track and tackle any hiccups fast.
