Small jobs welcome

"Their work was superb! They removed old water soaked flooring and replaced it with tile after fixing the leak in the floor. They also put up gutters and put in a drainage system to prevent water backing up against the foundation. They were on time and worked steadily throughout. They were very fair and competitive with their fee. I will hire them again."

"We have used Dan's services in the past and I knew that he would do what needed to be done for an honest and reasonable price. Dan and his wife, Sue, communicate well and kept me informed of schedules and what to expect on each visit. Dan sent a nice thank you note to follow up when the job was done. I will continue to hire Mackinaw Landscaping for our future needs!"

"Mark was excellent to work with from beginning to end. As someone who had no clue about what needed to be done or not, I felt that Mark was only quoting the appropriate work and not trying to oversell. Mark was quick to address any questions or concerns during and after the job. Once everything was completed, there was some concern that part of the yard would have an issue with water due to sloping. Not only did Mark agree an additional small retaining wall was needed, but he didn't charge for the extra work (and as the owner was even one of the two people who fixed the issue). He recently came back for a small job on some fencing and as usual went above an beyond. It's nice to see someone stand by their work and product and I wouldn't hesitate to call him in the future for any additional jobs. Thanks Mark!"

"He came and gave us a quote about a year ago but we did not have the work done because at the time, it was not in our budget. I know he has a good reputation and I would call him again. I liked him because he seemed professional and didn't seem to want to sell us things we really didn't want; he just wanted to work with us. He sounded knowledgeable about the kind of shrubs would work in the areas around the house."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Ferrysburg, MI

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
