Alex and his team were like roofing rockstars – knowledgeable, understanding of our unique needs, and incredibly thorough. They walked us through the entire process, offered a variety of options, and patiently answered my endless list of questions. "Great job well executed. These are very high quality professionals capable of diagnosing root causes of your problem, digging out the construction code and educating you on the right thing to do. You can hire cheaper handyman/chimney guys and get a recurring problem or you can hire these licensed professionals and take care of things the right way. Wish I had never used anyone else!"

"After the 3rd patch on my existing roof, it was time to replace the roof. Got an estimate from local roofer who did the repair, and from FB. FB was significantly lower for what has a strip and replace on a simple 2 plane roof. The estimator worked with me as a truckdriver with limited home time to schedule his estimate with my home time. He was pleasant and professional. On day scheduled for the work to be done, the workers, and equipment arrived as promised. They started about 8am and was done by noon. Cleanup was well done, and the dumpster for debris was gone by that afternoon."

"Very impressed with responsiveness, professionalism, technology, and value provided by Gunner Roofing. The copper flashing was pulling away from around my chimney and looked like it was in need of repair or replacement. I had previously worked with another well reviewed roofing company on Angie's List that missed my scheduled appointment to examine my chimney flashing. So I was very pleased when Andrew from Gunner showed up exactly when promised, and I was quite fascinated with his use of a drone to take precise aerial photographs of the work to be performed from all angles - a rather tech savvy approach. Gunner provided a detailed estimate within hours, that was only 1/3 the cost of the estimate I ultimately received from that other roofer. Gunner Roofing completed the work on time, and did a very satisfactory job. This was a relatively modest project, but based on my experience, I hope to use Gunner Roofing when it comes time to redo my entire roof."

"The appraisal, done by Jeff, was super, he explained everything that was to be done to repair our leaky room, 5 leaks in different rooms, 4 in living room 1 in dining room. A 4 man crew did all of the work in a day and a half. They went BEYOND great. They repaired and replaced a section that I totally forgot about, a leaky wall. They showed me photo of what needed repair and what it looked like after repair. And 10 yr guarantee, if anything happens &/or leak - call them and they will be out immediately. Compared to the last roofing company we had - THESE GUYS ARE FANTASTIC ! ! ! - I would NOT hesitate to call Salinas in the future"

"G.A. Wilson builders did a fantastic job all around replacing my roof. I am very happy with their punctuality and professionalism. They were quick to start and did things right. I had no problems. They even have a cool dumpster lift that they hoisted right up by the roof. The result was not one nail or scrap in my mulch beds. This company is strongly recommended."

"Absolutely professional from start to finish. The owner showed up to bid the job on time, and well dressed in a J.Alexander Polo. He was extremely educational w/ what I was gettting into, so their were no suprises if they were to get the job. The price was competitive and felt most comfortable w/ them--do to the time & knowledge he shared w/ me when giving the estimate. They didn't let me down and actually only exceeded my expectations when doing the roof. They had an eight man crew and everyone seemed to know their job responsibility. They had a guy running the ground the whole time-cleaning up and running a magnet for loose nails. They said they had two roofs to do that day. I thought they were crazy, even though I had a small roof (22.5 square). By 11am they had all the shingles removed, nails pounded down and the roof felted. Come to find out the owners are identical twin brothers who were both on the roof working along w/ the crew. The crew split up after the roof was felted, one brother stayed w/ three others to lay the shingles while the other group went to start the next roof. I was just hoping they got my roof done in a day like they said, It wouldn't suprise me one bit if they got both roofs done like they wanted to. I would refer anyone and everyone to JAlexanderRoofing-they were amazing from start to finish. <br />"

"Our experience with Alenco was top notch. Every person we dealt with from sales to installers were polite and knowledgeable. We were having an addition added onto our house and needed new siding and all windows replaced. The installers were efficient and made sure to clean up the job site when finished. I would highly recommend Alenco and use them for all my future needs."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Findlay, OH

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
