After moving back into our house and seeing how well the new gutter was working, we decided to replace the back gutter as well. We worked with our general contractor to bring this company back to replace the back gutter. They showed up on time and we were impressed by how well the clean-up was done. "Barn Rescue – My barn was hit by a vehicle, which broke a large post and pushed section of siding out from under the roofline, plus major damage at ground level. Brad shored it up for the winter with an array of jacks and an enormous chain to ensure the thing wouldn’t fall down till they could return in the spring. Come spring, they fully replaced the damaged section’s support members and facade, and added bracing to the attic, rendering it stronger than before. Foundation support: The sagging beams and jerry-rigged support columns in the dirt basement of our 18th century house were inadequate. They dug and poured a dozen footings and lally columns, supporting a line of new 6x6 and 9x9 beams that provide solid support to the house above. They showed up promptly every day, worked fast, and left the site clean and finished. Both Brad and Chad have a deep knowledge about old houses and the techniques that were used, and I felt my historic register property was in good hands."

"I had been looking for awhile to find someone to replace my brick porch. Poor initial construction, age, insects and weather had taken it's toll. This could be a nightmare of an experience if not done correctly so it was important to me that I get someone who knew what they were doing to get the job done. I found Western Mass Masons on Angie's list and called for an estimate. Dave (I believe the owner) arrived promptly and spent at least an hour reviewing the problems and making suggestions on how to resolve them. An estimate was sent to me and I accepted, scheduling the work for the following spring. After an inital delay due to issues on another project (I was called and told that there would be a delay which I had no problem with) Dave came back to review the details of the job and the work began promptly as promised. A backhoe was brought in and the existing porch was quickly demolished and removed after the portico was made secure. Nearby existing brick veneer on the house was also carefully removed and found to have water damage underneath which was brought to my attention. A good portion of the time was spent on building a solid foundation for the new porch. While the porch foundation was being done the cracked foundation blocks for the house were cut out and replaced. I was very specific on the design of the porch as I wanted it to be in proportion to the portico as well as stay in the style of the house. Dave worked with me on this making a number of suggestions on how to retain the look and build in a way that would minimize the effects of weather over time to the brick. I was also very pleased with the match of the bricks to the existing veneer, looks great. Drainage work was done as described. When everything was finished carpenters were called in to replace the six columns that held up the portico. Dave and his crew did an excellent job, professionals on every level. I am very pleased with the result, the porch is beautiful. I have peace of mind as well knowing that everything was done correctly, no corners were cut, nothing is going to fall apart in a year or two. I would highly recommend Western Mass Masons and will use Angie's list again."

"Steve called me back the same day and came out the following day to look at the situation. He immediately saw that my window well was not deep enough and during a heavy rain the water was coming in and traveling down between the foundation and the wall of the finished basement - seeping out onto the floor. His diagnosis make total sense to me. He quoted me a very reasonable price to 1) dig out the window well and line it with stone 2) install an extension of my downspout that takes the water several feet away from the house underground. He even designed it around my unground sprinkler system. Excellent service! I would highly recommend this company."

"Everything went great, there were a couple changes that had to be made as the job progressed, we found out the old toilet had been leaking pretty badly, and there was a bunch of rotting floor boards.  Other than that they completed the job within our time frame, cleaned the house up at the end of each day very well, and really treated our home like it was theirs.  Everything was sealed up with plastic barriers so we wouldn't get dust throughout the house, I was very pleased about that.  We plan to have them back in the next year or two for the kitchen. <br>"
