"We had 2 foundation cracks running from corner of basement window to the floor. Their recommendation was not to just fill in the cracks, as others suggested, but to also reinforce the structural integrity of the foundation with a solid steel plate bolted over the repaired crack. That approach made much more sense to me than the other recommendations I'd received. I hired them and they were onsite within 2 days and completed all work in a single day. We've since had excessive rain and the repairs have held up and the basement is still dry."

"In January of this year, my wife and I decided we needed to transform our finished basement to an inhabitable living area. That would require adding a bathroom and an egress window for â emergency escapeâ . We hired a contractor for the bathroom and began the research on egress windows. As we were anxious to move ahead ASAP, I began contacting companies that installed egress windows. We had a couple of reps come out, look at our basement, discuss the process and quote prices. Estimates ranged from $8000 to $12000. Most had 2 things in common. 1} They could not schedule the job until somewhere in May or June as â windowsâ wouldnâ t be available until then. 2) Any â finishingâ work (necessary sheet rock and trim) would be extra as they did not do that. In March, I happened upon a copy of a regional advertising magazine (Clipper) which came in our mail. In it was an advertisement for â Basement Gurusâ . Since we still hadnâ t made a commitment for the work, I gave them a call. After discussing the job with them, I came to conclusion to go with â Basement Gurusâ . There were five reasons why I made this decision. 1) It appeared to me, based on reviews, the company had a good reputation. 2) The fact that they had windows in stock. This would move job completion date up significantly over what I had been told by at least three other companies. 3) The price. 4) Excavation would be done manually eliminating the possibility of damage to my neighborâ s lawn. 5) Sheetrock and finishing included. Our egress window project (install/follow up sheetrock/trim) was completed on time. Three workers came to our home for the install. They completed the window in three days. Very efficient, professional. Our township inspector came out a few days later and said â all looked goodâ . Also, John the sheetrock/trim person told me he had done a number of egress finishes. He said this one, as opposed to some heâ d seen, looked really good. The sheetrock and trim was completed in one day. An egress window is a big job. They make alterations to your homeâ s foundation! All in all, Basement Gurus did an awesome job! We now have a really nice â livableâ basement adding significant value to our home. Basement Gurus gets my full recommendation! "Seamless experience from start to finish. Todd was super knowledgeable and through on the consult/ sales end. The install team made quick work of the project. Their work was top notch and my basement is now completely dry. I would recommend their services to anyone with basement or foundation issues."

SaniDry Sedona is the world's most efficient, high-performance dehumidifier and filtration system and is a crucial element in basement waterproofing and crawl space repair. As a result of its compact size, it occupies less space in a basement and can easily be tucked away in a crawl space. The unit eliminates damp, musty odors by drying and filtering the air, and it costs less to run than other dehumidifiers. It filters mold spores, dust mite droppings, dust and other particles, and it keeps hu

"The basement experts came in and patched up my wall around my well pump line that was leaking. I was getting water all along my front wall and two side walls when we got good rains. We’ve had several hard downpours the past few weeks since they did their work and haven’t gotten a single drop of water! Best price I found and great work. Can’t beat it thank you!"

"My initial contact was with Mark in late August or early September. We had arranged to meet and discuss the work that I wanted performed (pointing up the mortar on the brick chimney and under the windows on the front of the house). There were scheduling problems (for both parties) after one or two attempts and I was later contacted by Josh, who finally came out to my house in mid September to look at the job. I was impressed with Josh's knowledge, enthusiasm, and answers to my questions.
After discussing the scope of work to be performed, Josh assured me that someone would get back to me within a week with an estimate so we could schedule the job over the winter months. After a week went by, I called to see of they were working on an estimate and was assured that they "hadn't forgotten about me". After another 2 or 3 weeks, I called both Mark and Josh and left a message to see what was up as far as the estimate and scheduling.
It is now the second week in December and still I've heard nothing. I like these guys and I would like to have them perform the work, but at this point, I don't know if they are too busy or just don't want to do the work because it is not a big job. If that is the case, it would help if they would just tell me so. I hate to look elsewhere, but communication is an issue here so I may have to give up on these guys. Too bad.
I rated them as a "C" overall, with a "D" for responsiveness (or lack thereof) offset by a "B" in punctuality and professionalism
for the time when Josh did show up.

"Requested quote on putting in concrete porch. Received a quote and they started the work the very next day! The Forman was very detailed, in the work the workers were doing. They did an excellent job! What really impressed me too, a young lady in front of the house had a flat tire, the Forman stopped his work, and asked her if he could assist her. You don’t see that often now days Would recommend Basement Gurus for sure!!"

"Waterproofing One did an outstanding job waterproofing my basement. They were very professional when they were on site. They made sure no dust entered the living space and covered everything in the basement and kept it free from the dust. they were quick to start the job and finish my basement in less than 2 days. They followed up after the job was done and made sure I was happy with work and to call if I had any issues or concerns. I would refer Adam and his Waterproofing crew to friends and family because I know they would be in great hands. Garry"

"I wqill mprobably wait bThe meeting and ensuing discussions went very well. George is a big likeable guy who sticks to the facts and does not  exert any pressure on the potential customer. He outlined an engineering solution to invasive moisture and foundation erosion by building a sub-terainian trench around the house and inserting high quality  plastic piping to sustain a continued drain-off of the moisture. The  solution by its very nature is labor intensive and I thought that the price of approximately $3500 was reasonable. I currently do not have this problem so awhile. If i had water in my basement, I don't think I would hesitate.

FAQs for concrete foundation repair projects in Harrisburg, PA

Visible cracks, water leaks, uneven floors, or walls that won’t line up are classic red flags. You might also notice sticking windows, doors that no longer latch, or exterior cracks crawling up brick or siding. Even a damp, musty basement can hint at trouble. If you spot any of these, call a foundation pro right away. Early inspections cost far less than waiting until the damage threatens your home’s stability.

Yes, foundation problems impact your home’s value. Buyers want proof that the foundation is stable, and a recent, professional repair can actually boost confidence in your home. You’ll need to disclose the work, but documentation showing the structure was properly stabilized, especially with piers in regions known for shifting soil, often reads as a plus, not a problem. Skipping repairs, on the other hand, can cut your sale price and shrink the pool of interested buyers. Taking care of the issue protects both value and peace of mind.

Foundations are engineered for exceptional longevity when constructed correctly and maintained diligently. Concrete slab foundations remain structurally sound for 200 years, while other foundation types deliver integrity between 75 and 100 years. Regular professional inspections and timely maintenance further secure a foundation’s lifespan and ensure your home stays safe over the long term.
