At the risk of throwing good money after bad, I called Grumpy's. I got great advice over the phone including a number to call if I decided to have the line dug up. The rate I was quoted was reasonable. Grumpy came out and cleared the line in less than half an hour. In addition, he put a scope down the line, found the exact location where roots were getting through, and marked the spot with paint at no extra charge. He wrote down the coupling and pipe I would need to make the repair. When I dug, the break was right where he indicated. Grumpy was a real pro. He saved me a bunch of time and money."

"I called Gerry and described the problem I had with my clothes dryer. He came out and had it fixed in no time (broken belt, worn blower wheel and idler pulley). I was impressed so I showed him my dishwasher which was working, but also had problems.
He looked it over and gave his diagnosis, broken door cables and check valve. Said he'd get the part prices and call me the next morning between 8:00 and 8:30. He did so, and we set an appointment for the next day. He arrived on schedule and also had that machine repaired in no time.
He was very punctual, explained what was causing the problems, and examined the machines to see if anything else was worn and or broken. His prices were fair and the bills were itemized. When the work was finished, he went over them with me in detail. These are things that I really appreciate.

"Charles and team are amazing! This is the second time we've worked with him, and he didn't disappoint. We needed to do a major renovation of our kitchen to accommodate family members with disabilities. We had fairly specific design requirements, which involved raising the ceiling, adding structural support to one wall to create an archway, and adding another wall to allow for more cabinet space. After signing the contract with Charles, we realized we also needed to have our entire plumbing infrastructure replaced because of rusty pipes. We scheduled the plumbing work to happen before the kitchen project began so it wouldn't be an issue with the new appliances. The plumbing work left us with holes in the drywall in several rooms, plus a bathroom that needed to be gutted and rebuilt. Charles was amenable to adding the bathroom remodel to the kitchen contract--and we were amazed at how he was able to fit all of the additional bathroom work into the original kitchen schedule. Work finished on the exact date he'd targeted. He was also very accommodating of us in several other instances where we basically grew the scope of the project as it progressed. We are thrilled with the results and are planning to have him do a couple of smaller projects once we get our kitchen unpacked. Charles has two major strengths as a contractor that have made us want to hire him multiple times. The first is that he is an excellent craftsman. He is able to think through complicated designs and then execute them impeccably. The second is that he stays on top of every detail of the project and runs it like clockwork. Once work starts, he doesn't stop until it's done. His subs clearly value working with him; they show up exactly when they are supposed to and keep at it in order to finish in time for the next phase of work. Even when Charles isn't on-site while subs are working, he knows the exact status of their progress and keeps things moving until everything is finished. Charles is often booked out several months, but he is worth the wait!"

"Advised there would be a hole in the wall that I would need to repair after replacing and installation. Wish I would have known that prior. Not sure if that is my negligence? Had to run to store as did not have all parts to finish. Advised I would get charged for that? Have not seen the bill for it however so maybe they realized it was their issue. All in all it was quick and we have a functional water faucet.

"I had a 2 foot square hole in my ceiling caused by a plumbing repair job.  I called Walt's Handyman and Walt gave me a ball-park estimate from a verbal description.    He and his wife (his assistant) came  to the house on time and began work.  They were very friendly and professional and worked very efficiently to complete the ceiling repair.  The repair work needed to dry before repainting so we made another appointment for them to return and paint.  They took paint samples with them to match the paint on the ceiling/walls

Again they showed up on time and were very careful of the carpets, etc.  They did a great job on the ceiling.  It looks perfect!
While they were painting the ceiling they made some "touch-ups" on the paint on the walls without being asked.  It was a nice touch.

 I liked what they did so I asked them back to mount some small speakers near the ceiling in the family room and route the cables behind the walls.  Walt looked at the project and figured out how to do it.    To save time and money I bought parts for the job myself at the hardware store.    Walt did a great job with speakers;  the end result looks great and I couldn't be happier.

"Updated review: Less than 24 hours after Lonnie was here, Rob, the plumber, showed up to repair the pipes. He had to replace over 20 feet of pipe! It was all in the crawl-space, likely on his back. Personally, my skin crawls when I'm under there! He had to lie on his back, for 4 hours to cut and dress over 20 feet of galvanized pipe! Thank you very much Rob! Superb work! ? PS: Yesterday, I exceeded the performance envelope of my new little manual wheelchair when I attempted to negotiate my front stoop without a ramp. I took a serious header into the concrete but Lonnie broke my fall! ? Thank you Lonnie, that was awesome!!! I guess I fell for Apollo Plumbing and Drains LOL"
