"Empire did a great job with my hardwood flooring installation in my kitchen. The sales person worked quickly to writeup my estimate. The installers arrived about two weeks before my install to demo the multiple layers of my kitchen flooring (almost 2" thick!). This gave me time for the drywall to be replaced in the kitchen before the floor install. The installers worked quickly and cleanly. After the installers left, I noticed that a couple boards near the transition to my basement stairs were not flush with the stair tread. Empire immediately scheduled someone to repair this, and he did a great job. The floor looks great now! My only complaint is that while the new floor is a very good match to the flooring in the rest of the house, the lightest pieces in the new floor happen to be next to the darkest pieces in the neighboring older floor, so the transition is a bit stark. I wish I had noticed this while they were laying out the new wood, then I would have had them move some of the pieces around. Also, some of the old flooring at the transition to the new flooring needs to be refinished, but Empire's installers are not trained to refinish flooring, so I need to contact a separate hardwood refinisher to help with that."
