"Rick was fabulous about fixing the issues that the original installer did wrong and created so many problems. I feel I can breathe again knowing it will work properly for a very long time. I trust Heart because their technicians are always experienced and friendly. "

"Had a complicated rewiring job. Had to rip out old knob and tube, demo some ancient panels, and get a new panel and wiring to brand new recessed lights, and outlets/switches. Drew took care of it without missing a beat. He was knowledgeable about some of the oddities of working in an older home like ours and provided solid recommendations for when inevitable surprises showed up. I appreciated that he was timely and efficient, and far exceeded our expectations. We’ll be using him for our basement renovation later next year, if we’re lucky. Plus he was a conscientious “guest” for the week — worked efficiently, quick with a joke, and kept a clean work area overnight."

"A bunch of big and little jobs over several months on a house we bought and moved to Sep of ‘24. Move chandelier, run power to a shed, provide power to new heat pump, et cetera. Flexible, competent, and easy to work with"

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Fort Collins, CO

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
