"The service went well. HF Contracting, Inc. worked hard into the night to complete my roof installation. Mr. Flores was easy to work with. While my job was small in comparison to many others, it was treated with the same respect and quality as if it were a much bigger job."

"We needed are master bathroom renovated and had to do it with a budget in mind. I was up front with that expectation and Greg was really great bring me numbers right away if there was unforeseen extra overages and expenditures through out the project. We chose a hexagon marble for the floor and white subway for the walls with a large niche. I’m a DIYer with perfectionist tendencies so when I wanted something changed or fixed He did it right away no problem. I had him install a infinity drain with inlay tile and some tile around it didn’t lay right after grouting and I asked for it be fixed and he did it no problem. He was honest with what worked or didn’t when I showed him pictures of what I wanted. The crew was every polite and always cleaned up their messes. I had to do some extra cleaning some days and at the end. Duct tape used for the floor protector paper left a big mess to get up but whatever. We also did all the painting our selves to save some money and installed the new light and sealed the marble ourselves. Also the plumber he contracts with was amazing. Him and his apprentice did excellent work and I was extremely happy. I will have them do all our heating and plumbing from now on. Over all I’m very pleased and would ask Tomas Brothers back in my house to do more projects."

"This company was wonderful to work with right from the beginning (initially contacted through Angie's list on 8/15/14, estimate performed on 9/03/14, and work completed on 9/10/14).   There were a few hiccups in initial scheduling, but part of that was our fault (we weren't paying attention to the voicemail message providing us with a different phone number to call because they were having phone issues in the office).  Every single person we dealt with was extremely friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable.  They made us feel at ease about the work we were getting done.  <br /> Horizon's quality of work is excellent!  I realize that only time will tell, but so far we've had a couple of very heavy rains since the work was performed an no leaking has occurred.   The aluminum coating they put on the roof looks fantastic - and there are no paint splatters anywhere on the house from the coating.   The guys did a marvelous job of cleaning up after themselves too - we couldn't even tell they were here.  Most contractors I've dealt with, including other roofers, leave behind a giant mess to clean up - and worse, they leave nails behind for people to step on or drive over with their tires (why do contractors do that?)...   anyway, you don't have to worry about any of that with Horizon.  <br /> We are relieved to have a roofing company that is so experienced with flat roofs in Baltimore City.  Horizon Roofing, Inc. will be our permanent go-to company if/when we have any roofing issues in the future.   It is so wonderfully refreshing to receive such top notch, quality service that you can trust!  <br /> <br />"

"Had a leak, replaced roof at their suggestion. Service was prompt. <br /> <br /> Misgiving is that I contacted him today regarding a leak in the same spot. Was told they're no longer in the area and that the roof is not under warranty. I find this puzzling because I see recent reviews here for the provider so I would have thought they'd at least come by and taken a look. <br />"

"<p> </p> <p>Our roof was damaged due to a hail storm.  Randy Spect from ReBuid, Inc.  came highly recommended, and I have since highly recommended him to others.  One of ReBuild?s services that impressed me was their expertise in working with insurance companies in handling damage claims.  They are a local company, have been in business for years, are professional, provide good service, and are very punctual.</p> <p> </p> <p>  </p> <p> </p> <p>Randy Spect quickly returned all calls.  He not only helped us with the roof installation process but also helped us through the insurance claim process.  He inspected our roof to assess the damage, then met with the insurance claims adjuster during their inspection of our roof to make sure all of the damages were included in the claim. He also coordinated with the insurance company in processing the claim. After receiving the necessary documents from the insurance company, we scheduled an appointment with Rebuild and they were out to install our roof within 2 weeks. </p> <p><br /></p> <p> </p> <p>The roofing crew did a great job.  They were on time, polite, and hardworking. "Major Exterior Remodel: Siding, Windows, Doors, Gutters, etc! LS&G was easy to work with, did fantastic work, and had a very competitive price. Here’re the details. After talking to several contractors about my exterior remodel, some taking hours of my time, I met with Rick from LS&G. We went over my goals in about 15 minutes, he took some measurements, and sent me an estimate a few days later. No pushy sales tactics! His price was very competitive, but I was weary of working with the smaller company. After reading many great reviews I decided to move forward with LS&G. We did Acadia Windows (a local window company), ProVia doors, and Alside Ascend siding (a composite vinyl available in a wide plank). The windows and doors were done by one crew in one day! The siding crew was also fantastic - great attention to detail. Rick and/or the Owner, Dayson, were at my house daily to check on the progress and ensure everything went smoothly. The only delays on the project were my own fault - we decided to get custom shutters which took over a month to arrive. The guys came back out to install them and pointed out to me that the shutters I ordered were a little too large. So I ordered another set of shutters, and Rick was very accommodating to have the guys come back out again to install the right shutters, nearly two months after the rest of the work was done. I can’t say enough good things about LS&G. A lot of their reviews are for one door, or a few windows, but I can assure you they can handle a major exterior project, at a highly competitive price point."

"Outstanding! Our house was over 40 years old! This made it difficult to match building materials: color, size or non-existent. Modern Remodeling did a great job! Our salesman was more than a salesman, he was a Project Officer. he was vey knowledgeable of building materials (colors) and their installation. This helped us a lot in selecting roofing and siding materials. It was also helpful in explaining necessary changes to us and the insurance adjuster. The main office scheduled materials and workers. Everything came together at the right time. I was concerned about the load on my driveway. When necessary materials were carried and stacked carefully. Very professional work! Unused materials and litter were removed and damage to the lawn/bushes were minimal. Thank you Modern Remodeling for an Outstanding job!"

"It went very well. I received for estimates, ranging from $2950 to $4500. Politz Enterprises' estimate is $2950. I intended to have it done in May when the temperature is better for the shingles. But the company had it scheduled and done in early February. It's been two months since it was done. No leaks or any issues so far. On the quality rating, I currently gave it a N/A because I will updated it after the summer when I have more time to see if any problem develops. But so far, I have not had any problems."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Fort-Howard, MD

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
