"Estimate:
My experience with Mark's landscaping was extremely positive.  I've used them a few times now and each time has gone well. I contacted Mark and had an appointment for an estimate around a week later.  At the estimate I detailed the job and Mark took notes and offered some ideas.  I really wanted a low maintenance landscaping solution that would look nice year round. I insisted that the plants not be fast growing and that they not attract bees.  WIthin a few days Mark emailed me the estimate, we made some changes, and then scheduled the work for a few weeks later.  
Job Description
1.) For this job they had to uproot many shrubs and their roots and then create new beds.  A garden wall made of stones from EP Henry were installed over two days.  Mark is guaranteeing this part of the job for 3 years.  Commercial weed fabric was then installed and the new plants were planted.  The plants he chose look great and should be in bloom for much of the year.  I have not seen a bee go near them yet!  Delaware river rock was then installed in the new bed.  
2.) The playset mulch had deteriorated and needing replacing.  We decided to go with playground quality rubber mulch.  Mark guaranteed 4" of rubber mulch & underestimated the amount of material required.  Rather than insisting that I pay the full amount for the additional mulch, he only charged me 50% of his cost for the additional material.  There are a few areas still below the 4", but overall it is very good.  My children love the mulch because of the "bounce."  We love it because of the added safety.
3.) In the back of our house we had some decorative rock installed around the foundations.
4.) Regrading of land around foundation, seeding, and straw
Summary:
Here's why you should use Mark.  His crew is experienced and does high quality work and his prices are fair.  As with any job there will be surprises that come up and I found Mark's approach to resolving these surprises to be reasonable and fair.  Mark cares about his reputation and wants to have satisfied customers.  I've used many contractors, including landscapers, over the years and I believe Mark's Landscaping to be near the top.  I highly recommmend them and would use them without hesitation in the future.

"Cand S Lawncare comes to my house on a weekly basis to mow our lawn. They are always on time and if it happens to be raining on my usual lawn day, the come out the very next clear day. Dealing with the owner, Chris is a pleasant experience and he is always available to answer questions, help with any issues that may arise, etc. The only reason I gave them a and quot;Band quot; for quality is because we've had to tell them on several occasions to mow along where our property line actually is and not where they think it might be and because I often see some missed areas of trimming under the large pine trees along our fence. Other than those couple things, everything has always been great and I recommend them to anyone looking for a good company that does a good job at a very fair price.

"3 man crew showed up on time & went right to work cutting down the stock & carried it away. The grinder showed up later & ground the stump well below ground level. He was more than willing to clean up the mess , but we told him we would take care of it. My neighbor had two stumps in his yard & asked if he could grind them down. He called his boss & got permission to do it & my neighbor was very satisfied with the job & the price. I thought that was pretty nice of the company to do that since the grinder guy had a very busy schedule that day."

"My push lawnmower wasn't working, and my grass desperately needed to be cut while I waited for the repair.  I tried to contact several lawn and landscape companies to do the job, but no one would return my calls or messages except for Dan.  I was very pleased with the prompt response to my message to him through Angie's List--I sent it on Wednesday night around 9pm and he responded within an hour to get my details.  He called me at 8am on Thursday to confirm my address and let me know that he would go look at the lawn and call me back later with an estimate.  Dan called me back at 2pm Thursday with the $38 estimate, and that he would do it either Friday or Saturday.  I had to go out of town Friday afternoon, but when I returned on Sunday, the lawn looked great!  I am so pleased with the quality of the work and the responsiveness of the company.  I will definitely consider using them again when the need arises.

"All of it was easily done within 5 hours by an expert crew of 7 who left our yard beautifully clean.  They arrived by 8 am, and I had no problem at all communication with the lead man, Paco.  He did a great job on the Star Magnolia!  I was home but very busy inside.  Still, I went out to check on their progress periodically.  Paco did not rush the men to just get the job done.  He actually held them back from completing one thing or another to be able to confirm it with me before cutting.  When I asked for some additional cutting on this or that tree, he complied with a smile.  They were all very polite and so hard-working!  This was a real challenge for them, too, because we had some hard rain (no lightning) the first couple of hours they worked that morning.  We were very impressed and definitely recommend them without reservation."
