Furniture Medic by Karen is an independent family owned and operated Servicemaster Franchise that has been serving the Northern Virginia Metro Area since 1998. The company was started in 1998 by Karen and Brad Osman and is now owned and operated by their sons Erick and Mitchell who have been involved in the business since its beginning. Furniture Medic by Karen is different than most other furniture repair and restoration companies. Through Erick and Mitchell’s 14 years of furniture repair and restoration experience the Osman brothers have developed special techniques and use products that allow almost all of their services to be performed onsite at the customers home or business. This allows for the work to be done quickly and efficiently and the customer doesn’t have to wait weeks for their furniture to be delivered back to them. The onsite process saves everyone time and money. Furniture Medic by Karen will be happy to provide a free estimate to customers who send pictures of their damaged furniture. For an estimate, please send a picture of the entire piece of furniture with detailed pictures of the damaged areas. Including a common object in the photo next to the damage helps to determine scale so we can provide a more accurate estimate. A tape measure or a coin are are typical examples. "After several moves with the military to our forever home, we wanted to have our furniture cosmetically touched up, as it had incurred some nicks and scratches, with a few faded areas from heavy use. The kitchen in our new house also had been refinished several years ago, but the previous owners had been rough with the cabinets, leaving some scrapes and scratches. Eric did a fantastic job touching up all our furniture, which looks so much better now that all the scratches are filled and the faded areas blended. The cabinets in our gourmet kitchen look brand new. The cost was very reasonable, all the work was conveniently done in our home, and Eric was extremely knowledgeable and patient with all my questions. Getting an estimate via email with photos and scheduling was easy as well--it's just a great all-around local company worth supporting. Other companies wanted us to bring the furniture to them and had very high quotes just for a few pieces. I'm so happy I found them and my home feels so much more polished now."

Needed carpenter to build a footbridge using repurposed wood, install insect screen under raised screen-in porch, install oak handrails, fix the threshold to our front door, and add shoe molding in basement. JW (owner) was pleasant, professional, and thorough when he came out to give an estimate. He listened to what we wanted done and suggested ways to make it work. Scheduling was a breeze. A team of two came out to complete our projects. Of course temperatures were in the 90s, but they worked nonstop. Pedro (crew chief) built our footbridge based only on description. The results were amazing. It's sturdy, attractive, and durable. Kudos for great work. Other projects were completed within the timeframe with Kevin working on the screen and railings with assistance from Pedro. The crew was timely, professional, courteous. They cleaned up at the end of each day. All work was completed within 4 days. There was only a minor issue with the oak hand rails (needed additional sanding) -- which was remedied quickly after review of the project manager, Bob. JW was a tad more expensive that other bids, but in the end, well worth the price. Glad we went with them."
