"We had to have some work redone due to issues with slope and immediate cracking. It was difficult to get in touch with contractor initially. Once we were able to contact Chris Ferraro, he was good about reviewing and making suggestions to remedy issues. We appreciate that he is willing to stand by his commitment to quality. It was a-lot for him to send a team back to us to repair and re-pour the concrete. After the work was done he checked back us to make sure we were satisfied. There are not many contractors willing do the extra steps."

"I highly recommend ABC Concrete for driveway/walk installations! They worked under challenging conditions but prevailed with quality work. They also had the most competitive pricing of the three bids we received."

"They were fantastic.  They did exactly what they said they would do.  They didn't try to skimp on what they would have to do just to make a buck.  We had to coax things up with some of the other contractors that gave us bids.  These guys came right to the front and said what they would do.  Everything we had asked for they did without prompting.  They did exactly what we asked for and they were perfectly willing to work within it unlike most of the others who would cut corners.  They were very good.  It was worth the money we paid for."

"These guys did excellent work!!! They poured a 16’x24’ slab for my carport and a 40’x50’ slab for my shop. Out of all the contractors I worked with building my house they were by far the best! I will be referring these guys to anyone needing concrete work!!!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Four Lakes, WA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
