"I've hired many roofers over 50 years in business. The bids range was $9,000! Waterproof wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive. I gave all roofers an RFP (what I wanted them to submit bids on.) Many balked at the RFP. I said you are going to want me to sign your contract with lots of small print. This RFP spells out exactly what I'm looking for. I insisted on proof of Liability & Worker Comp Insurance, and licensing. I verified each with the State. I insisted on 3-4 addresses previously roofed to verify. The project was done timely as promised, and greatly improved the appearance of the house in addition to the protection provided by the replacement shingles.
