"Bert was fantastic to work with, particularly remotely.  He was good at communicating what was going with our project including sending pictures of the finished work.  There were a couple quality issues with the paint in certain places, and we had a miscommunication on the color of two rooms.  However, given that it was all done remotely, and Bert made it right after we discussed it, I'd happily recommend you talk to Bert for a quote.  His rates are very fair and he charged us by the hour.  Given the crazy winter weather this year and the fact that this is a vacation home, he proved his value once again when he brought a snow-blower in his truck and was able to make a path though the 8" of freshly fallen snow to our house in order to finish the job on time. <br />"

"<p>We contacted Terin Wales on May 2014 and he was there within hours to see what we wanted done on our cabin. The next week, Memorial Day Weekend he contacted us to show us an estimate for a 24 x 28 garage. My husband told him we would like it done by the fourth of July and Terin said all things considered he would try, cement had to be poured, weather conditions, whatever is under the ground in this heavily wooded area....Long story short the cement held up the project by a few days as the were tons of rocks and tree roots that had to be removed...along with that and his other jobs he and his crew kept in touch with us throughout the project as we were only there a couple of weekends. He did an excellent job matching the existing shingle on the end where he added the garage (we built the cabin over several years and didn't match as well). </p> <p>We were so impressed with the courtesy and professionalism not to mention attention to detail, that we hired him and his crew to build a roof over the entire rest of the cabin. We had an addition that had a shallow pitch to the roof over it and wanted to have a steeper pitch. We contacted Terin again in May for the job to be done by the 4th. Each rafter goes from the peak to the front wall with supports to keep the weight even throughout. They did an excellent job again finishing a week early. This job included matching the T-11 siding grooves down to a millimeter. We happened to be there when they were finishing up one day and they pick up everything....any nails on the ground any scrap of wood. "The project presented a challenge as the home was missing toilets, tubs, flooring and vanity. The provider developed a plan for the flooring and drywall install and proceeded to perform a quality job. The workers were all top notch, and were happy to explain things to us while performing the work. The workers also cleaned up at the end of each day which was a plus. We only hired them to perform the rough work and it was a great experience. We plan to use them again and would definitely recommend the company for future work. <br />"

"<p>As stated, current project is a work in progress. <br /> Unlike drywall that can be slapped up by just about anyone, the art of restoring and repairing plaster walls is a process but the benefits far out weigh any additional time necessary to complete it. In addition to restoring the historic integrity of the house, plaster will not mildew, will not stain, is far more durable and the finish is far superior to the deading effect drywall has, not to mention the health benefits of plaster. <br /> If you are remodeling an older home or even building new, please research the benifits of plaster. <br /> The first room Cand C restored plaster in (bedroom) is beautiful. Chris Lewis corrected the walls to flat and smooth finish that compliment the original wood work in the room.<br /> I highly recommend Cand C Finishing and thank my contractor for the recommendation.<br /> <br /> Update - project completed and perfectly. My repaired plaster walls are beautifully finished and Chris made sure even wall surfaces that were not included in his original quote were clean and smooth. <br /> <br /> Chris is dedicated to his clients' satisfaction and I am very satisfied.
