"Sean at Rapt Homes came to my rescue after I purchased cabinets from Lowe’s and couldn’t find anyone that would set them to the floor and install them. Had I found him earlier I could have saved money by having him build my kitchen island. He did help me return some very expensive corbels to Lowe’s and even after paying them a restocking fee Sean saved me a lot of money by furnishing quality corbels at a much lower price and even found me a better price than Lowe’s on a granite countertop. Sean also re-designed the sloppy Lowe’s island layout to make my kitchen much more user friendly and efficient and dressed the island up with trim and a pullout trash and recycle bin not provided by Lowe’s and all at a better price. I also had him build cabinets for my laundry room and am very happy with the results, giving me much better storage options for laundry detergent and other laundry goods. Sean was professional, easy to work with and his cabinet skills are exceptional."

"Cabinet Cures of the Triangle refaced my tired and worn kitchen cabinets and converted the lower cabinets to drawers. The team was professional, friendly, efficient, and tidy. The kitchen cabinets are now absolutely gorgeous! The door-to-drawer conversions increased storage space, and improved organization, including in blind corners. I would definitely hire this company again."

"Ted Frazier and Raleigh Premium Cabinets were fantastic! Ted was always available to answer questions, the cabinets were high quality, and the prices could not be beat. Ted was professional, knowledgeable and accessible. He answered his phone 90% of the time and the few time that I had to leave a message, he promptly called back. (He even returned a call while on vacation in Costa Rica!) Our kitchen cabinets from Raleigh Premium Cabinets are a beautiful dark cherry stain. They are high quality with solid wood doors and drawers, thick plywood boxes (not particle board), and soft close doors and drawers. Danny is a true craftsman and he installed our cabinets quickly and precisely. Raleigh Premium Cabinet's prices were lower than everyone else's for such a high quality product. We cannot say enough good things about Raleigh Premium Cabinets. They were the best part of our kitchen remodel. We highly recommend them and we will definitely use them in the future."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Franklinton, NC

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
