"Thanks to the skill and tireless work ethic of Travis, and his assistant Chris, our more than ten-year old deck and pergola have been restored into a new deck and pergola. 
First, Travis and Chris removed all the furniture and planters from the deck, then Travis pressure washed it.  When it was dry they sanded the entire deck surface and hand rails by hand to remove all the existing finish.  Three coats of stain/sealant were applied.  Even the edges of the deck boards were stained and sealed.  Looks new.
Travis pressure washed the pergola and did some minor repairs on the pergola's lattice.  The pergola was then stained and sealed.  It, too, looks new.
Just for the heck of it, Travis pressure washed some stepping stones and our sidewalk.  They look great.

He didn't think the repair work would be a good idea when the system needed a lot of work that wasn't cost effective. The second tech came out in a regular vehicle. When we were told we needed to replace both of our aging heat pumps and I experienced estimate appointments with the first 2 companies, I quickly came to the conclusion that it was like car shopping, and I HATE car shopping. The high pressure sales is a huge no-no for me. A friend at work suggested I contact Pope's, and I am so glad I did. The appointment was scheduled quickly and JR was a breath of fresh air. He explained things thoroughly, made suggestions for an energy efficient unit we needed while not necessarily the top of the line unit, and had a great personality with absolutely no high pressure sales tactics. He gave us the time needed to talk it over and come to a decision without hounding us for an answer. Their pricing was equivalent to another estimate we received, but honestly JR's friendly personality is what caused us to go with Pope's. We wanted to go with a company that we could be a long term customer for warranty work, repairs, etc. and we didn't see that with the other companies. The day of install came and it was extremely cold! Two crews showed up and went straight to work, laying down cloths and putting covers on their shoes so they wouldn't track in dirt. They were professional, kind, and considerate. They tried to keep the doors closed and our doggies from running out as they worked. They completed the install of both units that day. Our units are propane backup and after the first day I started noticing a slight smell of propane. It was a Saturday, but I called the office and they dispatched a tech out right away. Bill was the technician that day. He found a small pinhole leak and took care of it immediately. Bill had the same positive qualities as the other employees we had dealt with. As he was leaving, he noticed my sister visiting and attempting to put together a bike for her grandson. She was having difficulty, and he stopped and quickly helped her with the bike then sent my nephew off on his new bike. What service technician does that these days? That's the quality of employee that Pope's employs. My family was in awe. It was greatly appreciated! JR came back about a week later to check everything out and make sure we were satisfied. We passed our inspection from the County with flying colors. Now the real praise comes ... the first few months we did save on our electric bill, but it was a pretty mild spring so I didn't think that was a true test. We just got our bill for July and our usage decreased drastically! In July 2016 we used 3,344 kWh and this July we used 1,907 kWh. Absolutely incredible. I've already recommended Pope's to my friends and family and will continue to do so."
