"I do not recommend MG remediation to anyone looking for a reliable and conscionable contractor. Carlos and his team not only took about 3 additional weeks to complete ceiling paint, the paint they did was nowhere close to acceptable and they created damage to our house along the way. When confronted with the imperfect paint, they blamed the imperfections on the way our ceilings were built. When confronted about the extra delays (keeping in mind that the last week or so on the job they started coming only few hours to work as if our project was kind of a hobby of theirs that they show up to during their free time taking no consideration to the fact that we told them multiple times that we currently are homeless and they already exceeded the timeframe they provided us with), they blamed me and my husband for â rushingâ them which led to imperfect paint and delays. Due to the damages to the walls that they created, we had to hire other painters to paint the entire house. They also scratched and created dents in our new floors and in multiple rooms. Their excuse around that is that they usually come to a house and complete their work first which is bound to create damage and then the rest of the contractors come in. They basically take the contract signed as an excuse and cover to create all the damage they please in your house. On top of all that, the communication was very poor all along although we were promised daily updates and pictures. For all these reasons above, I cannot recommend MGM to anyone."

"Excellent, as usual. I have been using Larry's services for a few years. I have a cream carpet with a lot of mileage on it. He always manages to make it look good again with his thorough cleaning and deodorizing. Larry is reliable, punctual, efficient, and professional. I don't hesitate to call him, and would highly recommend his services."

"Angel did an amazing job pumping out over 6,000 gallons of water from under our house! Diego came out very quickly to initially assess the damage and then Angel and his team started pumping the water out just a few hours later. They worked hard from 8pm to 2am! Angel was so kind, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process! He responded to all my texts so quickly and communicated with the office for me to get all the documentation that my insurance needed. He even followed up to make sure I had everything I needed. Angel came back multiple times to check on our house and make sure everything was drying properly and that there wasn't any further damage. He left the fans under our house for over an extra week for no additional charge to make sure it was completely dry. Angel was awesome and offered the best customer service!"

"BPG Inspections Failed to Honor Their Guarantee or Take Accountability Summary: In my experience, BPG Inspections failed to uphold their guarantee, and I encountered poor follow-up and vague, shifting justifications for denying my claim. Details: I hired BPG Inspections in Pensacola, FL, to inspect a home I purchased in April. The inspection occurred in March, and I moved in during May. Within a few days of moving in – well within the 90-day warranty period – I discovered two issues that the inspection report had explicitly marked as functional: 1. The garbage disposal unit did not work (it made a soft noise but did not function). 2. The HVAC system failed to deliver air to the kitchen and adjacent bedroom, though the inspection report had indicated the air handling was operational and in good condition. I promptly emailed BPG about these problems, and while the inspector initially responded, I was then passed to their claims department. After repeated follow-ups, I finally received a call on June 23rd – nearly a month after reporting the issue – only to be told that neither issue was covered under their warranty. I raised the following concerns: 1. For the HVAC, the inspector had confirmed it was functional in an email, contradicting the claims department's later justification that it could not be tested. If no air reaches two rooms, it should have been evident during either heating or cooling tests – this was missed. 2. For the garbage disposal, I was told it was a "kitchen appliance" and therefore not covered, despite it being a fixture included in inspections. When I asked where the warranty excluded it, I received inconsistent explanations. At no point did the company offer to re-inspect or further investigate these issues. I expected more accountability from a professional inspection service – especially one offering a guarantee."

"This company was hired by my home insurance as a subcontractor and gets paid directly by the insurance.  And yet, they filed a frivolous mechanics lien against my property only a month after the work, without providing any prior preliminary notice.  This is after I received a letter from the insurance company stating that everything was paid in full.  Instead of checking up with the insurance company for any discrepancies or contacting me to discuss the matter further, they just jump right into filing a frivolous and invalid lien.  Looks like this is what this company usually does to the homeowners after just one billing cycle based on other reviews online.  This is their go-to billing method.  Unconscionable and unethical!  I will have to hire a lawyer to look into their unusual billing tactics.  Not only that, they left my window frames damaged, and left a sharp metal spike sticking out on my bedroom carpet.  I could have gotten seriously injured if I stepped on it.  They also left items damaged from the demolition, which needed to be hauled away, with sharp nails sticking out, right in my bedroom.  The gentleman who came out to do the initial evaluation was nice, but other employees seemed unhappy.  Terrible company!"

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Fremont, CA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
