"Josh designed a beautiful plan for my front yard! He was very professional yet personable to work with and answered every call and question that I had. He is very knowledgeable and totally understood the vision of fabulous that I had in mind. The choice of trees, plants and materials was perfect and very cohesive with my Craftsmen style house. I had an irrigation system installed as well as lighting which in itself is like artwork at night. He put me on the schedule and when they started, knocked it out very quickly and efficiently. His crew did excellent and fast work and were extremely neat and clean! He wasn't the least expensive quote I got, nor the highest, but his professionalism and enthusiasm made me choose Greenscape Design because I knew I could trust him to do what he said he would do. Was definitely a case of you get what you pay for and would 100% do it again. Since the installation, his guys are maintaining my yard weekly and do an incredible job. After construction on the back of my house I will be using them again for the backyard!"

"The project went smooth. A lot of hard work in the summer heat, on hands and knees planting a lot of mondo grass. That part took forever and required patience. Old pea gravel was removed and replaced with a stone walkway and numerous other plants were installed, as well as top soil and mulch put down. I wasn’t at hope the first couple of days when the project finished, so Ray came by to water everything. After payment was rendered, he came back to make some small adjustments to account for water drainage after the 8 inches of rain fell in one day. Would definitely use again, as Ray takes pride in his work and wants to make sure the customer is happy."

"Called and responded with suggestions about resurfacing and tile work. Ended up adding silicone to plaster mix. A week delay in final step. Also had to remind about installing the rail we purchased but paid to have install. It took several visits to bring the correct tool to install the railing. Men used to resurface were professional and knew what they were doing."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in French Settlement, LA

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
