"I have the first Masonite m-pwr Smart door in TX and John installed my door alongside of an electrician. He was on time, unboxed my door, and did an excellent job with installation, teamwork, and clean up. His prices are also very reasonable. I would definitely recommend."

"We found The Window Source through Angie. From the quote to install the customer service was outstanding. The product is wonderful, and we can already see/feel the difference in replacing the windows. Highly recommend this company."

"I lost two commercial 12 wide x 13 tall doors along with 16 wide x 7 tall residential door with garage opener in the may storm. He replaced all three with opener. All now work fine. Was also less than other estimates. Others were 13k and his was 10.5k. Had tools and knowledge and took several days but theyâ re fixed correctly and saved me money."

"Great price, on-time, great results, professionally done. We had a removal of a chain-link fence, construction of a new wood fence, and a new outside door where a bay window used to be. All were done with great results...will hire them again !"

"Excellent work. Jacobo was very professional, did a great job in a very neat, quick and orderly fashion. Explained what he was going to do to repair the door. Not only completed the job but did paint touch-up where a section of the door frame had to be replaced matching the existing paint. And cleaned up the inside and outside work areas when the job was done."

FAQs for doors (exterior) installation and replacement projects in Frisco, TX

Modern steel doors incorporate protective coatings and finishes that significantly reduce rust potential. These treatments create effective moisture barriers when properly maintained. Small scratches or damage should be promptly addressed with touch-up paint to prevent moisture from reaching the underlying metal.

Doors in coastal or high-humidity environments benefit from additional protective measures and more frequent inspection. With proper care, most steel doors resist corrosion for decades.

Steel doors provide superior resistance against forced entry attempts compared to fiberglass alternatives. The inherent strength of steel creates a formidable barrier that resists impacts and tampering more effectively than composite materials.

While high-quality fiberglass doors offer reasonable security, steel provides an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and structural integrity. For maximum protection, look for steel doors with reinforced strike plates and multi-point locking systems.

Most manufacturers provide warranties covering manufacturing defects for periods ranging from five to 15 years, depending on the product line and quality tier. Hardware components often carry separate warranty coverage, often for shorter durations. Installation services may include workmanship guarantees covering proper fitting and operation. Always review warranty documentation carefully to understand coverage limitations and maintenance requirements that might affect warranty validity.

Provided your existing wood frame remains structurally sound and properly aligned, professional installers can often adapt a steel door to fit. The process requires careful measurement and potentially minor modifications to accommodate the new door's specifications. The frame must provide adequate support for the heavier steel door construction. A qualified installer will evaluate your current frame's condition and recommend appropriate adjustments to ensure proper function and security.
