"Advance Pro is a team of friendly and dedicated professionals. I came across them through HomeAdviser/Angi List while searching for a contractor for a small painting job. They did such a good job at a reasonable price that I had no choice than to hire them again when we moved to our new home which required a major renovation. My wife and I were so impressed with the way Mr. Jose had a team of workers waiting at the door on the closing day ready to tackle the job. They demolished and renovated the entire kitchen. Completed other repairs through out the house; from electrical to plumbing, painting, and other miscellaneous fixes, were all done in a professional and timely manner. I will definitely hire AdvancePro LLC in my next project and highly recommend them to anyone that need their service. --oby"

"The project went very smoothly. Ferney communicated very well about the timing. The final cost was very close to the estimate. They used high quality materials, took their time, and did the work with care. They did detailed touches like caulking seams, repairing window frames. And the paint job was excellent. It is nice to deal with someone who plays things straight with honesty and integrity. I will definitely reach out to them again."

"We recently quoted out the painting of our front hallway (includes vaulted ceiling) to 4 different vendors. We chose Perfect Painters because they offered the same level of service (and paint quality) as the other three, but were the most competitively priced (two of the other vendors over-quoted us for a very straightforward project - walls were in great shape: it was just a refresh paint job on the upper walls above the chair rails and molding. One was $1,100 more expensive than Perfect Painters!). When I told these vendors that they had lost the bid due to pricing, both suggested that they were "very comfortable" with the prices they quoted us and suggested that we might be getting a lower quality job from Perfect Painters. I can assure you that was not the case - the team arrived on time and quickly got to work covering the area in tape and plastic. The team of three expanded to 4 or 5 in the afternoon to complete the job in about 6 hours (2 coats on walls, ceiling and crown molding). They did an excellent job and left the space as they found it. I have no hesitation in recommending them and will use them again for my next painting job. Beware of other vendors out there who will jack up the price and try to justify it by suggesting that the job is complicated by elevation (the ceiling is about 19 feet high at the highest point - its called a ladder!, or the fact that they have to tape the banister!) Next time, I won't waste my time and simply have Perfect Painters do the job for me. They are honest and straightforward and the crew who did the job were very friendly and efficient."

"Edward and his team repaired, power washed and stained our deck, stained our fence, sealed nail holes in our siding and touched up the paint on the siding. The quote was very reasonable and the work was completely quickly. Edward also took the time to answer all of my questions via email or text and performed touch-ups. I would hire this company again."

"Luis Monson, owner, did an outstanding job. Before hiring him, I asked for references and he provided two. I contacted both of them, and they each gave him excellent reviews. Luis painted our master bedroom with vaulted ceilings, including both the walls and ceiling. He also painted our entrance foyer and living area, again covering both the walls and ceilings. Several ceiling cracks needed repair, and he carefully fixed those before painting. The ceilings in these areas are very high, which made the work even more challenging. He was extremely meticulous throughout the project. He thoroughly covered all furniture, floors, and stair railings to protect them while he worked. He also helped move furniture as needed, although I assisted with some of the heavier pieces. We supplied all of the paint. In total, Luis painted approximately 1,800 square feet of walls and ceilings. The quality of his work speaks for itself in the attached photos. His pricing was very reasonable and significantl"

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Gaithersburg, MD

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
