"Within (1) week, Mr. Jenkins and his crew were onsite. They were always there by 7am each morning and usually gone by 6. They cleaned up behind themselves daily. I was in awe at the speed to which the room was added but absolutely amazed at how the room didn't look any different than my mobile home from the ouside or inside, Mr. Jenkins and his crew made sure the colors matched perfectly and the new roof looked great. I was very impressed that they didn't just "attach" a room, but instead pulled the siding off my home and tied in the new room with new siding and the new roof. They did all the electrical work, interior and exterior paint work, laid hard wood flooring, installed the windows and new roof. I was just very pleased with their work. Mr. Jenkins and his crew were very professional, cleaned up after themselves and finished relatively quick. My little boy is very happy with his very own room!! FYI: The closet they built was very large and had lots of shelves. <br />"

"<p>Job was done on the date promised, in the time span estimated and at the price quoted. The two man team properly braced the porch roof before tearing the old column out. They built the new column on site. The team removed all tear down debris as well as the trash from the construction phase (a really big plus in my book since I have had other contractors leave their trash for me to clean up.) The contractor asked for a deposit before they began and the balance after the work was completed. I marked them down on punctuality since they told me that they would be here at 9:00 but it was 90 minutes later before they arrived and another 30 minutes before they started work. As I said above, the work completion was promised for the end of the day and they met that. </p> <br />"

"He made an appt. to come to my home and discuss what I wanted. He looked at other pieces in my home and talked at length what I needed in regards to functionality. It only took him about two weeks from consult to completion. Let me tell you this is a piece of furniture which is worthy of passing on to future generations. Quality wood, made with precision that is not seen in mass produced furniture. The drawer glides are precision solid wood. Pattern on top is a geometric design giving the finished piece a three dimensional look from a distance. His wife and mother-in-law are accomplished artisans in painting and finishing and various crafts. Their painting and staining put the "icing on the cake"! His [David Crenshaw], attention to detail is amazing. His craftsmanship is something you don't often see. My husband is so pleased he is having him come next week to discuss plans for him to build stairs in our garage going into our attic, including a landing, storage, etc. then, he will be building a new fireplace mantle to bring character and beauty to my living room. He is a Christian young man who has a unique gift and is very humble about his work. I asked for a table which had a drawer for remotes and TV guide, etc. We then wanted it to have a door to put my husbands magazines and snacks in! (A request from my husband!). This piece is very function, but more than that, it is a beautiful piece of furniture. The top looks like a piece of artwork. I gave him license to "do his own thing" because I believe a true artisan should have freedom to bring their talent to the forefront. What I got was way more than I could have ever imagined. I will never go to a furniture store for furniture. Also, because he was an accomplished trim carpenter, he willingly takes on small to large home repairs or fixes, as regards to carpentry. He is truly a master. His email address is: dcrenshaw@hishandscarpentry.com <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Gallman, MS

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
