"Well, it was a long road, but that wasn’t Tom’s fault. I live in a converted church with a fieldstone foundation, that is partially below grade. Soon after moving in I noticed mold, and then water damage followed. I called so many contractors, companies who specifically deal with water in basements, etc - if I could get a call back, that was a miracle. If I did get a call back, literally no one would even take the time to come take a look at my problem. My issue was clearly more than most people wanted to take on. I found Tom, and he obviously had great reviews. He called me back within 24 hours, and didn’t even flinch about coming to do a site visit. He showed up, developed a game plan, with the caveat that we wouldn’t 100% know what we were dealing with until the walls were opened. Totally understandable. I signed on the dotted line and the work began almost immediately. My walls came down, a bathroom was gutted, floors torn out - and what do you know. I had water absolutely pouring into my walls from my foundation. A total nightmare. Sparing all of the details, we chased the water problem for a long time. Tom was not happy moving forward until we were 100% water tight, and I really appreciated that. We finally got everything patched and dry. Next was plumbing, electrical, spray foam insulation, drywall, tile, flooring, a total rebuild of my bathroom, some carpentry ... you get the idea. It all happened. In summary - Tom and Joey are awesome. The work they do is amazing, the people they work with are all thorough, and so friendly. If anyone said they were showing up, they were there on time. Messes were cleaned at the end of each day. Tom and Joey were easy to communicate with, and generally all around awesome guys. I’m so happy with all of the work performed, and just as valuable - I have peace of mind. Also, my new bathroom is awesome! I can’t thank Tom enough. While I hope I won’t need his services for a long time, I wouldn’t ever hesitate to call him again."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house.
