"We are so pleased with the results of having hired Javier Cruz and his company, Stone and Lawn Care, to install a paver walkway around our house. His response time for a consultation and quote was immediate. He was able to start the project within two weeks of our getting HOA approval. He sent a full crew the first day to dig and clear foundation and remove all tree roots, stone and dirt, and lay the weed fabric. He sent three men to lay the pavers. And one man came on the third day to sweep in and water the polymer sand. He himself came each day to inspect the work and make sure we were satisfied. The colors are a perfect blend, the patterns are so pretty, and the border is neat and definitive. We could not be happier, and are recommending him to all our friends and neighbors!"

"Hutchins installed my irrigation system and were great to work with from beginning to end. They worked with me to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for with options for upgrades (or not) as desired. They were also happy to answer questions and very responsive to outreach. Definitely happy to recommend them!"

"We reached out to John Spivey at Gardens of the Carolinas back in January of 2022 with the vague idea that our back yard was a disappointing place that we didn’t really like to spending time in. We had recently had an enclosed three-season room installed which meant we were now spending time out there looking at a yard composed mostly of clay and weeds. We also had some serious drainage issues that meant several huge puddles persisting after a good rain and causing the dogs to get muddy. John’s landscape architect created a few different plans for us and then we picked our favorite and went through a few iterations to arrive at our final plan. Work began in mid-June and wrapped up in mid-July and we could not be happier with the result. The drainage problems are gone and we love spending time out in the back yard –even in the summer. Work included regrading the entire yard; installing a large paver patio with perimeter seating walls and step; two small deck areas; awesome plantings; new Bermuda sod; and landscape lighting that looks amazing and will far outlast the plastic Malibu lights I installed years ago. We can’t wait until Fall when we can get the fire pit going. I’ve included some before and after photos of the yard (the porch was built by a different company a year earlier)"

"We found David and team to be professional and knowledgeable. We have a HOA, and he provided documentation that we needed. He waited patiently for HOA approval of the project and then put us in line for the project. David stayed in line with our budget and alerted us of issues. We love our backyard pavers and retaining wall!"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Raleigh, NC

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
