"From start to finish, everything was great. I was concerned with a couple of reviews but was easily comforted once the process started. Austin, the owner, was very professional. The crew took time cover my flower beds and clean up after the roof was installed. Soon after the installation, a storm come through and I called Austin with concerns. He had no problems sending someone out to make sure everything held up properly. I will not hesitate to recommend QE Restoration. They are A+ in my book."

"Estes diagnosed leak in ceiling, gave me clear alternatives, and fixed the roof exactly as he said he would. He fixed another problem he spotted on the roof and blew off the leaves, free of charge. Estes values customer satisfaction, and I like that. I would use again. <br />"

"Our "only" negative comment about Ground Zero Shelters is that they do not come to a persons residence to give the sales pitch and demonstration. You must go to their showroom or see their product at a home show. This being said, we were extremely happy with the sales experience, reminders and installation of our shelter. They called about 10 days prior to the installation for a reminder, their installers called the day before and the morning of the installation to remind us that they would be at our home at the designated time. They showed up as promised and were completed with the installation in less than 1 1/2 hours time! Thank you Ground Zero!"

"Ernie Haas provided a very thorough examination of our roof which enabled us (after much back and forth with our roofer (DCF Contracting)) to ensure that all necessary and required repairs were made to our roof. Mr. Haas stayed in contact with us for more than a month to ensure that any questions or issues we had were addressed."

"After getting frustrated with one contractor that has an "A" score on here I stopped in at a local lumber company and asked if they knew a <strong><em>dependable</em></strong> roofing contractor. They recommended <strong> T.J. Harmon</strong>. I called T.J. on July 3rd and told him I had two boots on the roof that needed replacing. I made mention that it was the week of the 4th and a repair later on next week would be fine. He said no problem, I can be out there this Thursday and see what I will need.He done just that...came out about 4pm Thursday and talked with me about the repair, got in his truck went to town, got the parts came back and had it fixed within and hour.  He talked with me after fixing the boots and said the reason they were leaking is because the previous roofing contractor put them on sideways."

"I contacted JCS Roofing around mid Nov to provide a quote. Within the week, someone had come by the house to look at the roof and leave a quote. Once I selected them to do the work, the weather had gotten really cold and rainy. Therefore, it took a little over 2 months for them to start the job. But once they started, it only took approximately 3 days to complete the job. All employees that I had contact with were very pleasant and easy to work with. I am very pleased with the new roof."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Gattman, MS

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
