"Ampelio and Caesar from Aguilar Tile did a wonderful job! Our master bathroom shower had a custom drain that was installed incorrectly by the original tile setters (not Aguilar Tile) 6 years ago. Ampelio identified the problem and removed and replaced some tiles and made the drain smaller so it is now removable and no longer clogs. Everything came out perfectly and looks perfect and good as new. Ampelio was super efficient, on time and very clean. I will definitely hire Aguilar Tile Installation for any future jobs!"

"They did a good job. She had to submit like a photo but my daughter had them work on the central are of the loft. The deal was for one room. She got a lot of good ideal from her and it was worth it for her. They were professional and I did not hear anything negative."

"Rocky was hired to do demo, tile work & install baseboards. After demo, he started doing the rough-in plumbing. He said that his plumber was not available & he had the skills to do all this work. I was anxious to get the job done so I did not stop him. I was disappointed that he used pex plastic tubing in some areas rather than copper pipe. When his plumber came to do the final plumbing work the tub spout was only secured on one side. The spout moved back & forth, wagging like a dog's tail. Since all the tiling was done, his plumber cut the wall open behind the plumbing and 2 1/2 hours later this was fixed. Would not recommend that Rocky do any plumbing. Great work on the layout & tile setting. Poor job on grouting leaving many areas unfilled. Rocky cut the last tile too short where the last tile in the bathroom floor meets hardwood floor in the hallway. So instead of recutting the tile, he filled the gap with tile grout! I called Rocky on 6/13/25. No call back."

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Geyserville, CA

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
