"<p>I was looking at other things too. Their place is interesting because they have a nursery and garden area that’s divided. When we go inside there are gift areas where some of it is very mundane like the mulch, chemicals and so forth. Then in another area we can find other things. Then we go into the third inside area. This is the side of the checkout, which is already as big as some stores. The last area which is the most northerly inside is beautiful all around like a flower shop. We can get things over there. It's always like Christmas. It' feels like a wonderland. It's just very, very pretty. Pesche's Garden Center and Nursery is a huge place and very nice to go because of the variety.</p>"

"We had a lamp it had a stained glass and a architects angle to it but is was made out of wood. I accidently broke the casting at the top of the lamp. The guy was very friendly he did a estimate and he called us back with it. He had to make the cast and refabricate the part, we were able to pick it up in early June. And you cant even tell that work was done on it, he matched the materials perfectly with the lamp. We would def recommend him and he does other antiques lamp repairs and chandeliers. He is a terrific guy,a great artist and he does great work."

"Hearth & Home installed two beautiful gas lamps at my home in 2004 & 2006. I have painted and maintained the lamps myself all these years. This spring, one of the lamp's rain caps rusted, so I called to see about a replacement part. After speaking with Mary, we decided to buy replacement parts for both lamps, since they are almost the same age. She was able to obtain the parts from the manufacturer and have them shipped to my home at absolutely zero cost. I was able to replace the parts myself. Mary provided excellent service! I was very impressed she was able to not only obtain the parts, but to do so with no cost and to have them conveniently shipped directly to my home."

"They did a FANTASTIC job.  The piece repair ranged in price from $20 to $400 -- depending on the level of damage, the intricacy of the silver work and the size.  The pieces are restored to the quality of new pieces.  They gave excellent advice about the care of the pieces.  When I pressed for additional solutions, they offered to hand make storage bags (to prevent oxidation) and charged only a nominal fee.  Seeing the beauty of some of the pieces transported me back to when they belonged to my grandmother.  I am now planning to have additional pieces done because the work was so well done -- and I didn't realize how amazing it would be to have them back in high quality. <br />"

"I couldn't find a place to get my two lighting pieces fixed.  I found a wonderful electrician on Angie's list who did some work for me and he recommended Benko to do my specialized work on these lamps. <br /> I dropped off the two items at Benko on December 13, 2014. <br /> I got a call on December 19 that the light bridge was finished and ready for pickup. <br /> I got a call on February 25, 2015 that the torchiere with its new glass lampshade was ready. <br /> It took a while longer for the hand-made glass lampshade. In addition to crafting an entirely new lampshade, Benko improved the stability of the lamp base which was wobbly and added some weight to it. <br /> Considering the craftsmanship and how busy they are with custom work, I had no problem waiting a little longer for the new glass lampshade. <br /> They did a fantastic job and the end product is a result of classic, old-world European craftsmanship. <br /> You can always find a workman to do a job.  But finding a craftsman is an entirely different challenge. <br /> These lamp repairs were in line with my price expectations.  It would have cost me a lot more to replace them with the kind of quality I wanted. <br /> My husband has a pair of brass candlesticks his grandmother bought at an antique shop in the 1950's.  The owner at Benko very generously took a lot of time to talk with him about the pieces that had become dark and pitted over time, how they may have come to be in such a sorry state, what it would take to restore them, and offered a good education about the crafting and the care of different kinds of metal work. <br /> The couple who owns Benko Lamps are warm and personable.  They are passionate about what they do and justifiably proud of their skill and the business they built.  While I was there picking up my lamps, there were other residential customers like myself, a commercial customer, and a lighting designer waiting. <br /> I would recommend Benko Lamps in the blink of an eye and will return if I find I have any specialized lighting needs. <br />"

"I have absolute no complaints about TMD remodeling. Tom is very hands on contractor to deal with, he finished my bathroom inside of 2 weeks with tenants living in the unit at the same time. His pricing and workmanship is number one with me and my thinking of remodeling contractors. Tom is very conscious of his work and his workers and what they do for me as the customer. Not once did he complain about the anything on my job, or try to up charge $$$$ me at all."

FAQs for swimming pool remodeling projects in Glenwood, IL

You can modernize your pool by adding features like underwater LED lighting, mosaic tiles, or a beach entry for easy access. Incorporating amenities like fire pits, waterfalls, or installing energy-efficient equipment can also give your pool a contemporary upgrade.

To make your pool more energy-efficient, consider resurfacing it with a lighter color to reduce heating needs and evaporation. Installing a variable-speed pump can significantly lower energy consumption. Switching to low-energy LED lights not only saves power but also enhances ambiance. Additionally, updating old plumbing pipes can improve efficiency and reduce water loss.

A pool remodel typically takes between four and eight weeks to complete. The exact duration depends on factors such as the size of your pool, the complexity of the renovations, and the availability of materials and contractors. Planning ahead and coordinating with a professional pool remodeler can help ensure your project stays on schedule.

Remodeling your pool can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you plan to sell your home. A pool remodel can increase your property's value and enhance its appeal to potential buyers. Upgrades like modern finishes, energy-efficient systems, and added features like lighting or fountains can transform an outdated pool into a backyard oasis.

Resurfacing a pool involves applying a new finish to the existing surface to address cosmetic issues and minor structural concerns. Replastering is a more extensive process that replaces a deeper layer of the pool's structural base, impacting both stability and appearance. After replastering, you can choose from various finishes to enhance the design and longevity of your pool.
