When I started to practice this job. I didn’t realize the help I was giving to our boss and to the home or apartment that we were working on. To know that one day someone was going to go live there. Know every time I help a costumer I do realize that with my hard work I can achieve making somebody happy. That’s my goal in life.

"We had marble counter-tops and bathroom shower stalls to clean, polish and seal. The effort and quality of work was excellent. Zuka is the owner. He did all the work himself over a two-day span working non-stop. In addition to grout repair, he removed and re-caulked all of the surfaces."

"Andre installed porcelain and glass tile as part of our master bath renovation. He was a good amount cheaper than the other quotes we received, and because of his positive reviews on Angieslist, it was a no-brainer. Andre honored a quote that was several months old and was able to come in to start the work within 2 days of accepting his proposal, which we appreciated a lot. He came in to due our floor first )so that we could move ahead with installing the vanity and ordering the counter) and came back the next week to finish the walls. We had some hiccups along the way with craftsmanship and the incorrect pattern being installed in some places, but Andre fixed all of the problems without question as soon as they were brought to his attention. I think the crafsmanship issues were a result of Andre doing the installation himself and being out of practice. He had mentioned that he had to lay off his guys due to lack of work and he was out of practice on installation since he hadn't been doing many lately. Overall, the project took a day longer than orginally anticipated, but it came out looking nice and Andre was easy to get along and to deal with."

"Despite a bit of a miscommunication and us canceling on him twice, Matt was extremely accommodating, went out of his way to fit us in, and did great work. They used plastic sheeting to protect the entire bathroom and had exhaust running to outside. The smell isn't as awful as expected after reading other reviews. Just smells like spray paint. Will update this review later about how well the finish holds up. Thanks again Matt!

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Glenwood, IL

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
