"We have a 3 storey house and the team at Brite Idea came out and put up the lights on the house. They had to come out a second day with a longer ladder to finish up but the end job was worth the wait. We did the lights around the bushes which balanced the others beautifully. We agreed to a 3 year contract which suits us since we love having the house lit up for the holidays. I'm sure we'll continue as long as we live here."

"After meeting with a number of other contractors for our project, we decided to hire MD Construction. We hired MD Construction to replace the failing retaining wall in our driveway as well as installing steps to a paved pathway that leads to our yard. We met with Miguel (the owner of the MD Construction) and he is very knowledgeable with the process and materials involved. They gave us a great price and provided us with a copy of their insurance and NJ contractor’s license. When they started the work, we had very bad rainstorms the entire week, which made their job even harder. However, they were diligent and professional throughout the process and completed the project on time and within budget. The wall looks great and is an appealing improvement to the home. We will be using them again to replace our patio in our backyard."

Initially contacted contractor through Angie's list.  Jeff Pasternak owner/operator responded immediately.  An appointment was scheduled for an estimate.  I wanted a stone border down the side of my driveway, and along the gardens in the front and side of my house.  I wanted several bushes, along with topsoil and mulch.  As I had never had professional landscaping done on my property, I was hoping for suggestions, rather he seemed hesitant with my requests.  He took pictures, measured, and would get back to me by the end of week.  I contacted him almost a week later after no response, and almost immediately he emailed an estimate along with pictures of my property with the enhancements we had discussed.  I really liked what he had done with the photos.  I responded with some concerns which he answered, and left it at that.

"Creative Pavers did a great job for me. I had a wooden deck that essentially just a wooden platform on the ground. It was starting to rot in places and the inspector warned me when I bought the house that it was showing signs of termite damage, so it had to go. The provided me with a great design and we worked out a way to do it in stages so that I could stay within budget. I was traveling for much of the project, but everything went well even in my absence. From start to finish, they were polite, professional, punctual - and I love the end result. I have other plans for landscaping and hardscaping for the future (including a firepit) and I will definitely use them again."

"I purchased the Angie's List deal of four hours of Handyman's services for $99.
It took a while to schedule, firstly, because it was mainly outdoor work, and when we couldn't find a date in the fall, I waited until the spring.After that, the company was very unresponsive when I tried to arrange an appointment. At one point, I offered a three week window when he could pick his four hours and didn't hear from him.
I thought someone would come by ahead of time to discuss what I was looking for, maybe give me an idea of what the time frame would be for the various tasks. But I was only asked for a description of the jobs over the phone. On the scheduled morning, the company still wasn't sure what I was asking or even if they needed a ladder. (They eventually borrowed mine).
The concrete patching started cracking within days of the job. I called the company about this, but they didn't get back to me.
The carpentry work was sufficient, but  the work didn't allow my door to close. The workers were in their truck and about to leave when I noticed this.
They didn't bother to cleanup the sawdust.
I don't know why Finished Edge wants to be on Angie's List, much less offer special deals, when the follow up with such mediacre work.
