"Originally i thought it was going to be a simple fix of a hole in the pipe. It turned out i needed a new hot water line run into my kitchen. The guys were really nice and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and had the new line installed in a few hours. They were great!"

"I'm not fully moved into the home yet, but I will update when I am there permanently. The crew was very professional, worked diligently, cleaned up after every day of work (three day job--french drain expansion, two additional sump pumps installed, window drains into the sump pumps, pretty extensive job)."

"We are extremely pleased with the job Enviropro did in our basement. The price was reasonable (relative to others we contacted), and the sales call was friendly without the high-pressure nonsense of some other waterproofers. One key to my decision to hire them is that the Lifetime Warranty is backed not just by EnviroPro, but also by the national company that created the system they use. The work was done according to schedule, with far less dust and mess than we expected. The crew were very communicative and they cleaned up after themselves. It's like having a brand new basement. We couldn't be happier, and do not hesitate to recommend Mike and his staff."

"For over 20 years my wife and I used another A rated Angie’s List heating and air conditioning firm and we have given them good reviews in the past. Recently our 20+ year old heater started acting up. At times throughout the day or night the burner wouldn’t ignite and we would be without heat. After seven service calls and various parts at the cost of $700.00 our old service company could not repair the heater and the problem remained unresolved. So we decided to get estimates to replace our entire HVAC system mainly due to it’s age and this unsolved problem. Vaughan Heating and Air Conditioning was on our list of acceptable companies to speak with due to their Angie’s List A rating. We called Vaughan and they sent Tony Pellegrino to our home the next day. My wife and I were very impressed with Tony. He spent over an hour at our home scoping out our basement, configuring our new system and answering our questions. Later that day we received the Vaughan estimate that Tony sent by email. I called Tony and he spent another hour on the phone addressing my questions and concerns. We received the other competitor's estimates over the next two days. We accepted the Vaughan’s estimate which was $1,100.00 more then the lowest estimate and $2,500.00 less then the highest estimate we received. Our choice was based on our comfort level with Tony, the price of the job, the longevity of the company (established in 1937) and the quality of the heating and air conditioning units that Vaughan installs. We accepted the Vaughan estimate on Saturday evening and Tony scheduled our job that coming week on Tuesday (for the heater) and Thursday (for the air conditioner). The reason for the one day in between work was because they squeezed our job into an already full week of installations and we were really pleased that they did that for us. On Tuesday morning at 8:30am the installer’s, Marcus and Jeff were at our house ready to start the job. These guys were friendly, professional, extremely competent and also very neat and clean, covering our rugs, etc. Jeff and Marcus did and exceptional job installing our new HVAC system. It’s “state of the art”! My wife and I are extremely happy with the job Vaughan Heating & Air Conditioning did and we could not be more comfortable, then we are now, in our home. A great price, a great people and a great job! We highly recommend Vaughan Heating & Air Conditioning! Len & Lorraine Fedullo"

"Mike came to the house on time, and went right to work. He Diagnosed the problem and the corrected the drain for the washing machine and the corrected the vents for the Dryer. His Professional work, especially the fit and finish of the completed job was highly exceptional. Before Mike left, he cleaned up the work area and took all trash with him. Thank you Mike, I will call you again for any plumbing jobs in the future. Joe Kryston"

"to Jared Reale and his crew, you fellows did a long and laborious job replacing my sewer. The amount of demo that had to be done was horrendous. Between redoing the driveway and interior work my home is back to normal. A job well done, Kudos to you and all your crew."

"I switched to Clay's last Fall, after I got frustrated with the largest HVAC contractor in our area.  I could not be happier.  After 27 years of home ownership, Clay's is the nicest, most responsive and highest quality HVAC contractor I have ever used.  In the course of two service calls from me (my first two, so I was a total stranger for the first one) they have really impressed me.  After the first repair, I thought maybe it was a fluke, but they just did it again!  Here are my observations: <br /> 1.  They are friendly when you call.  They seem glad you called.  Even when it was my first call. <br /> 2.  They schedule a service call quickly. <br /> 3.  The service tech shows up when they promised, or before. <br /> 4.  The service tech is friendly.  He seems glad to be there to help. <br /> 5.  He does the work when they said, which is usually right away.  If it has to be rescheduled, the tech tells you why, and he seems kind of apologetic.  <br /> 6.  The service tech is skilled; he does not have to show up with an apprentice or other helpers unless they are needed. <br /> 7.  The service tech does great work; every fix has been perfect. <br /> 8.  They do not try to exaggerate the problem, and they don't try to up-sell you "repairs" that you don't need. <br /> 9.  They clean up the mess when they're done. <br /> 10. They bill you a fair price for the work. <br /> I know I sound like a commercial for these guys, or a shill for the owners, but I'm not -- that's really the way I feel.  These guys are just the best, and their service techs seem to be as nice as the people you talk to in the office.  I can usually find something to complain about, but Clay's has impressed me twice now, and they deserve a shout-out.  I am totally satisfied. <br /> <br />"

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Gloucester City, NJ

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
