"I will call this “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly review” as I am breaking this review into the 3 teams that we had – 2 very good and done quickly and 1 inferior with the most time spent at our house – thus the overall 3 star grade. The Good • Roofing Team – Grade: A. Efficient, good job, found virtually no nails or roofing materials on the ground • Gutters – Grade: A. One man crew but he knew what he was doing and provided good suggestions for modifying our water flow. The Bad • Siding & Window Team – Grade: C to D. Not sure how they were trained but they didn’t seem to understand some common construction basics. A few of the many examples – o They nailed the siding on wrong and had to start over. o They almost ripped the 120V electrical outlet off the house without turning off the breaker but it was the weekend and we happened to be in the garden and saw them. o Installed the dryer vent wrong twice – once painting it shut and the next time putting on a vent with a label on it saying “not for use with clothes dryers” due to the pre-installed screen. The Ugly • Siding & Window Team – Used caulk as touch up paint on LP Smartside (or just used the siding to clean off their dirty fingers?) – leaving random “chicken pox marks” all over new siding. Garage, driveway and all 4 sides of our house were filled with equipment and garbage for the length of the project. Not the crew to have if you have children or pets – they left old saw blades and other sharp objects around the garage entrance and the house. I didn’t expect a spotless home every night but I didn’t expect to be living with this much disarray with minimal clean up each night, even after asking the supervisor to improve pickup of at least garbage and sharp objects in the garage and the common walking paths. Nor did we expect to be spending our fall cleaning caulk off the “maintenance free” siding and re-painting it and installing our outside boxes correctly. I will give the owner credit for realizing that his siding and window crew did inferior work and giving us a discount on our bill. None-the-less, I am rating the services provided based on the quality of the work done."

He monitored the progress of the process and kept everything on track. The roof replacement job took just one day and the crew was utmost professional. They collected all the scraps and trash and even cleaned the gutters. I guess this is how you make sure that you, as a business, leave a happy customer!"

These may or may not have been a result of the roof install, but in either event, the team fixed the issues with no question asked."

"They helped a lot with getting through insurance hassles and pushing to get the entire roof repair covered. Once everything got approved there were a couple scheduling conflicts on both sides. They did accommodate us on timing to not conflict with a toddlers nap schedule. There were a few small items left unfinished that took some time to get completed, but they did come out and address everything."

"Joel was very helpful and eager to get the work. His bid was the lowest. However, he started late (and di not call me as he had promised) and his crew did not show up at the time that he gave to me (about 2 hours late). HE also wasn't "on the job" full-time. He did not produce an aesthetically pleasing roof for us --- we have a unique home and even the flat roof is important in terms of attractiveness. We decided that we would just let it go, but I would not use him again for a flat roof."

The work done by Mike and Josh was meticulous and they were both enjoyable to have around. John Weber was the project manager and stopped by regularly to make sure the project was going well. Our home looks amazing and many have commented on the attention to detail and high quality finishes. They cut no corners and did amazing work. I would not hesitate to refer Hoffman Weber for any exterior work."
