They harvested old brick from the attic chimney (which was about to fall), carefully cut and removed layers of old plaster, making a minimal repair hole, and then rebuilt the chimney in the upstairs bedroom. They repeated the process in the kitchen below, taking out only the plaster necessary and rebuilding that, as well, with the original bricks from the attic. Charley and Mike left clean, straight openings for new drywall, and only what was necessary. Then the guys finished in the basement, tuckpointing and stabilizing this four-story interior chimney. "Overall we had a great experience dealing with Exterior. This was the second project we hired them on, so we were familiar with working with them. We were quite particular in whom we selected to take on our project given the unique nature of our home and the ultimate look we wanted to accomplish. From the beginning, Ben did a thorough job of explaining all of the factors we needed to consider in selecting our new windows as well as talking through the steps needed to execute a proper installation. He took extra time to walk us through his quote and explain all of steps involved in the project. We had some custom features we wanted in the windows and on the install, and Exterior did a great job of making that happen. We want to give special kudos to Hillary, the installer/carpenter, for the near flawless job he did on the installation. His craftsmanship, attention to detail and professionalism is top notch. We wish we could find someone like him to do all of the projects at our home."

"Called to get a quote to fix a broken set of five concrete steps and a sunken stoop. My two level front porch had sunk about two inches and the lower level had cracked and was deteriorating badly. The retaining wall about 10 feet long by four feet high holding up the steps and stoop was also crumbling. <br /> Mr Altop came out one evening after I got home from work. Took all the measurements. We discussed different options for replacement of broken concrete and retaining wall.Fir tree blocking front door was also to be removed. No pressure to do all at once. He explained consequence of doing one part and not the other. In the end it made sense to replace the wall at the same time. He gave lots of design options for the stoop. Quote came a couple of days later. Scheduled the work and as it was weather dependent it took a couple of weeks to have it started. <br /> Arrived on the Monday and broken concrete and steps were jack hammered and removed ,Retaining wall removed. The old concrete was used as fill and compacted down as the new base. Tuesday they started the new retaining wall and were still working when I got home from work after 5pm. They stayed late until they had got to the point of installing the rebar in the new wall. <br /> Everything was covered with tarps as we had storms forecast for overnight that night. Wall completed the next day . <br /> Next day forms made and installed to pour the new concrete and steps. Rebar also installed for new stoop. Wall finished off with top stones. New steps poured , new stoop approx 8 x 5 and porch another 8x 5 wide poured. Wall finished off to blend in with other wall already there.Driveway swept nightly and area left clean and debris fee. I was given detailed instructions as to how to care for new concrete, and when I could paint or finish the wall. <br /> None of my plants around the original porch were damaged or had to be removed. I had a couple of little stepping stones that he replaced in their original position after the work was complete. All in all the work was done Mon-Friday Mr Altop followed up Saturday with a visit to clean up little pieces of concrete to smooth little pieces under my front door. <br /> Very happy with the work , I would have no hesitation in recommending A and E for your concrete repair."
