"I called and had a visit for ideas and an estimate within a day.  Jeff had some great ideas and at a cost I could afford.  The work was completed about 5 weeks after signing the contract due to ordering the material and getting me on the schedule.  The main person I worked with was Chris, and he was great.  He kept in contact with what was going on, and did a wonderful job.  All the cabinets were removed, the bulkheads taken out, my ugly ceiling was redone and then the cabinets and backsplash put in.  It's amazing the change in my little kitchen.  There is so much storage now and it's so pretty.  Definately will use this company again! <br />"

"Jim is quite the professional. He was prompt and explained the work to be done, how long it would take and the overall price. He met all my expectations. His helper was also polite and respectful. When the job was done you would have never known that he'd been there - he cleaned the area just as he found it. I would defintely hire him again."

"I had some older woodgrain kitchen cabinets.  Rick's schedule is busy, because he's good and in demand.  he arrived on time.  He masked that area and painted the cabinets with a gun.  He painted both inside and out.  It took two days and it came out perfect.  The cabinets look like new.  I would give Rick my highest recommendation. <br />"

"The whole job went very smoothly. Derek was very professional, and came here to work. We have been searching for a local handyman to take care of projects around our new home, and we believe we found the right guy for the job. Will hire again! Did excellent work"

"PMV gave separate bids for painting part of our house and the roof our barn. Their bid for painting the house was more than 50% higher than the lowest bid. The bid for painting the house was lowest, I checked with several of their listed references and received positive recommendations for their work. I checked with references of the low bid for the house and received positive recommendations for them as well. For that reason I split the work and offered the work of painting the barn roof to PMV. In July I put a down payment of 10% and was placed on their list for painting. It was at least a month before they came to paint; they gave me an estimate of when they would arrive and they were quite close to that date. They kept us apprised of their arrival and work plans. Work went smoothly and without incident. The two young men who did the work were courteous, cheerful, and easy to have on our property. They cleaned up after themselves. PMV rented a big bucked lift to do the work. The lift was left on our property for several days (with our permission). The only snag in the operation was PMV asked for $300 more than their bid after painting the roof, claiming that the cost for paint was higher than expected. This seems strange to me since they delayed giving me a bid for more than a week so that they could get an estimate for the special paint they planned to use. Rather than argue the point I paid the bill."

FAQs for cabinets refinish projects in Grand Junction, MI

To find the best cabinet refinishing expert for your project, start by researching local pros and reading reviews from previous customers. Reach out to a few contractors to discuss your cabinets' size, condition, and the look you're aiming for. Don't hesitate to ask for references or examples of their past work. Speaking with previous clients can give you valuable insights into the pro's workmanship and reliability.

When speaking with potential cabinet refinishing pros, consider asking them several questions to gauge their experience and professionalism. These questions can help you gauge the pro's experience and determine if they align with your needs.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on your work?

  • Can you create custom finishes or colors?

  • Do you have examples or samples of your past projects?

  • Are you able to match the finish to other cabinets in my home?

  • How long will the project take from start to finish?

Regular care will help maintain the beauty of your cabinets for years to come. To keep your refinished cabinets looking their best, follow these steps:

  • Use gentle cleaners: Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the finish. A simple mixture of warm water and mild dish soap works well.

  • Clean carefully: Instead of spraying solutions directly onto the cabinets, apply them to a soft microfiber cloth and wipe gently.

  • Protect from heat and moisture: Try to minimize exposure to excessive heat or moisture, which can affect the finish over time.

It's usually less costly to refinish cabinets than to replace them, depending on the cabinet condition. Refinishing cabinets cost an average of $3,114 while replacing cabinets is about $5,000 or more. When deciding to refinish or replace cabinets, consider several factors, including how old your cabinets are, your budget, and whether you need to complete any other renovation projects at the same time.

It may be worth resurfacing (also known as refacing) your cabinets if they’re in good shape but you’re interested in a different look. This is often less expensive than replacing cabinets outright and can allow you to update the look of your cabinets to reflect your kitchen’s current style without having to get rid of them entirely. The cost to reface cabinets is around $4,300 to $10,000, and you can hire a local cabinet refacing pro to handle this work.

Refinishing cabinets takes about two to three days to complete. The process begins with removing cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware, followed by cleaning, stripping, and sanding the surfaces. Any chips, stains, or splits are repaired before applying paint or stain. After applying the finish, the cabinets are reassembled, and the workspace is cleaned up, leaving your cabinets refreshed and renewed.
